Avadhuta Gita Chapter 1, verse Verse 49

“There is no body made up of five elements; nor is there anyone who is disembodied. All is verily the Self alone. How can there be the three states and the fourth?” To put this verse in perspective We pause to explain elements and states The former, earth, water, fire air and vast space The states are waking, dreaming, deep sleep The fourth is turiya, recognised by grace First things first, we are not decaying organic form This body-mind is but an earth life interface A vehicle to feel by touch pulse dual Our true form in singularity is living light Eternal awareness self-aware in endless renewal With this preamble the verse becomes clear Yet remains a concept until we directly recognise An enablement offered if we be still in the vibrant void Where in timeless time false identity falls away Revealing light of Self pure and unalloyed
