I pictured an older man sitting in his chair, newspaper on his lap and a cup of coffee on the table in front of him. He then forgets where he is and ignores the paper and coffee as yet again he is drawn back in time and his memories take over as he goes behind his mind.

When I go behind my mind Am I wanting to explore? Will I like what I find Of all my life that's gone before? All the things I've tried to hide, All the choices right or wrong, Are they waiting there inside Like some half-forgotten song? And there you are - it's like a rewind, Not really forgotten - at the back of my mind. I'm walking with you in the sun So very long ago, I can smell your perfume, we stand close, In your hands a yellow rose. Unread paper on my knee, Cup of coffee now gone cold, Memories flood back to me Of our vows and two rings of gold. Instrumental And there you are in the shadows and I find Not really forgotten - at the back of my mind. I'm dancing with you in the rain, So many years ago, I can feel your wet hair as we sway, How we loved and laughed that day. Now my mind's made up, this will not do I've got to stop looking to the past - to you I'll build a wall behind my mind That I will never climb I'll not look back The past is gone I'll not look back It can't be undone. It's the worst mistake I ever made I just stood and let you go Will the memory ever really fade I'm still waiting for a rainbow.
