Ascension
They've gathered round this lonely grave,
There's so few;
Not to pay respects to the man they never knew.
To the man they squeezed the spirit from his soul,
at such a tender age;
The man they tried to cage.
My price to pay,
For rejecting their ways.
And now they file past my coffin door,
All thinking I have lost the war.
Some have tears are they really real,
They never visited before to show they feel.
Perhaps the tears are that I can no longer be used,
To serve their purposes and take the abuse.
Yes they think they've won,
Another life undone.
And put the blame on me,
Not realizing,
as I ascend from their presence,
I'm finally truly free.
Returning to the home,
God has for me.
