As Your Called Teachers, Lord
As Your called teachers*, Lord, we thank You with joyful praises
Which You surely deserve along what Your Deity enforces
Keep us jubilantly awed by Your amazing, miraculous graces
While singing to You through our hymn-spirited voices
And rejoicing in Your salvation-assurance that eternally blesses.
As Your called teachers, Lord, we serve You with loving devotedness
Which You definitely require by Your compassion’s steadfastness
Keep us divinely fascinated with Your marvelous kindness
While glorifying You in our pardon-sealed earnestness
And delighting in Your presence-goodness of favor’s plenteousness.
As Your called teachers, Lord, we worship You with sincere gratitude
Which You truly desire reflecting Your generous attitude
Keep us constantly thankful for Your blessings’ magnitude
While exalting You in our strengthened faith’s altitude
And trusting Your provision-granting fortitude.
As Your called teachers, Lord, we lift You with reverence-upheld humility
Which You absolutely seek upon Your wisdom’s certainty
Keep us obediently moved by Your caring, controlling authority
While honoring You along our sanctified purity
And bowing to Your power-brightened majesty.
As Your called teachers, Lord, we honour You with servant followership
Which You completely ask within Your offered partnership
Keep us wholly surrendered to Your immutable leadership
While adoring You midst our sweet prayer-fellowship
And advancing Your kingdom-mission thru faithful stewardship.
As Your called teachers, Lord, we obey You with utmost commitment
Which You actually demand according to Your Word’s settlement
Keep us constantly inspired by Your reviving encouragement
While living for You in our heavenly investment thru church involvement
And cleaving to Your perfection-covenant of triumphant fulfillment.
As Your called teachers, Lord, we esteem You with our willing sacrifice
Which You rightfully beseech by Your mercies that suffice
Keep us genuinely submissive to Your plan of self-denial’s price
While building lives for Your glory above worldly fame’s clamor or cries
And magnifying Your name-stature so greatly grand beyond earthly enterprise.
*1Corinthians 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers…
