As I Walk
As I walk - stones knick, cut, and gnash at my trodded feet
creating scars from the miles I have walked for you
A road where stones know not the smoothness of friendly steps
My legs - bowed from carrying the weight, in the strong of my back
you couldn't seem to bear
Your strength gave out it was I who gave you mine
Tho' they mocked you - To sleep I rocked you
They jeered you - It was I who cheered you
When you were discouraged - I encouraged you
Yet, the soles of your feet remain unscathed for they are but
a stranger to this road I've trod for you
