As I Lay Here
AS I LIE HERE ALONE IN BED
MILLIONS OF THOUGHTS RUN THROUGH MY HEAD
HOW STUPID SITUATIONS CAN LEAD TO “SHE’S DEAD”.
I BEGIN TO FEEL THAT I AM NO LONGER SAFE
AND ANYONE CAN SMILE UP IN YOUR FACE.
AS I LIE HERE BOTTLED WITH EMOTIONS,
TEARS SLOWLY BEGAN TO FALL
I WONDER WHY I AM CRYING,
TRYING TO CONQUER IT ALL.
A BODY GOES THROUGH A LOT AND
THE CHANGES ARE BOTH GOOD AND BAD.
MY HEART IS CONSTANTLY CHALLENGED,
THAT’S WHY I CHOOSE TO CLOSE SOME OUT.
THINGS ARE GOOD WHEN YOU AND THAT SOMEONE SPECIAL
SHARE THOSE WONDERFUL TIMES TOGETHER
BUT UPS COME WITH DOWNS JUST LIKE YOUR FAVORITE ROLLERCOASTER RIDE.
AS YOUR FEELINGS FOR HIM BEGIN STRONG
YOU BEGIN TO SEE THAT THE PERSON YOU
THOUIGHT HE WAS, WAS WRONG.
AS I LIE HERE IN BED WITH TEARS RUNNING,
MY MIND AND HEART PUSH AND PULL
UNTIL THE TEARS I CRY ARE NO MORE.
