                                                Anger

                             Anger ranges in breadth and depth
                               From a mole hill to lofty mounts
                            That captivate one`s dazzling breath
                                With diverse peaks of emotions.

                                  Mild anger is like a light gust
                            That bruises the hair and soon parts
                               Leaving one nervous for a while
                                    And a tinkle in the heart;

                               Some little bursts of light anger
                             May brace torpid horses with zeal,
                             Prompt them to run further ahead
                                And may a winning star reveal.

                               But prolonged fits of wild anger
                             Can gnaw the body and the mind
                        With stormy waves of stress and strains,
                                  Inviting illness of all kinds.

                             Like a haze, anger blurs the mind
                             Spreads a veil over one`s reason
                               And may lead to rash decisions
                            That can mark a scar in one`s life.

                            Anger can chill bonds of friendship,
                                Prompt grim domestic violence
                           Where disputes are chronic and rife
                                 For wilful wants of tolerance.

                             Yet bursts of anger can be tamed
                               If one learns to master oneself
                               And contain gusts of emotions
                                  By inspiring the inner self.

                            Let us breathe in and out deeply,
                               Inhale lively air from outside
                          And gaze at nature`s prime beauty
                               To temper anger from inside;

                           Let`s freshen the mind for a while
                              Disperse one`s angry feelings,
                            Dispel away thoughts that are vile
                            And restore peace in one`s being;

                              Let us raise our full awareness
                               Of the inner self as an anchor,
                            Let it light our life with brightness
                             To salvage ourselves from anger.

                                 The inner self is like a pond
                             That absorbs angry, wilful waves
                                In its serene stillness beyond
                             Holding them in its silent grave.

                                  It is like a shining beacon
                                  Ever gleaming like an eon
                           That guides us far from angry shores
                                And leads us the Lord to adore.

                            How I would like to stretch myself
                             In a realm where gusts of anger
                              Are mastered by the inner self
                                And set to rest in a manger!

Full of insight, creativity, and wisdom. I really enjoyed: " Some little bursts of light anger May brace torpid horses with zeal, Prompt them to run further ahead And may a winning star reveal." And yes, "Are mastered by the inner self And set to rest in a manger!" If only we can tame our anger, and serve no other master than the Prince of Peace. Great job!
