Amidst the Dense Forest
Amidst the dense forest
he found rays of light
for the high-wire act
he enacted each night
From the arms of one branch
he leaped, to land in another
Embracing love's chances
in risque romances ...
With dawn, a tiny voice stirred
deep down within him
'It's time to go home
no more this night roam'
Yet the thrill of the high-wire
enticed him to stay
Just one more branch
and he'd call night a day
So he leaped one more time
but missing the arms
Crashed into a trunk
that raised an alarm ...
... in the pale light of dawn
that hung o'er the woods
before his eyes his true wife
~ forsaken, she stood
