All Ears
It's not enough to hear.
Most of us are blessed with
our God-given sense of hearing.
All of our senses are gifts, which means
that we did not earn, learn, or win them.
There are some things we are not born with;
things we have to really work at and learn.
One of such things that comes to mine;
a most awesome ability most of us wish
that everyone else had; a most treasured
quality so few seek or even desire to obtain.
From a child, our parents longed for us to do it,
and each generation makes such demands on their
children. But it is not something to be merely relegated
to kids for the betterment and development of their little souls.
Nay, neither is it fantasy, like finding gold at the end of a rainbow.
Nay, it is reality; and I dare say that if all possessed it, we would be
the better for it. However, this highly needed pearl of great price;
this golden prize of endless value is far more needed than diamonds,
pearls or beautiful furs; and it's never to be found in a silver mine.
Personally, I think it not to be so; but there
are those who suspect it to be an 'Art Form",
possessed by the few and in between. It's true
that our mouths were made for talking, but so
much more. Our ears were made for hearing, but so much more. Somewhere, in our ears, in the arena of our hearing, there must be
'a discipline for the learning of LISTENING'.
Yes, it's still true and shall forever be.
'What the world needs is love, sweet love'.
What the world also needs is more "LISTENERS".
