Again, Just a Dream
~
Lost in the silence where dreams now awaken,
closing my eyes to the stress of the day
Feeling alone and a little forsaken,
wishful these moments that come into play
Wondering if it is imagination,
bringing these thoughts on this evening to me
Something to quell all this anticipation,
answers to questions my heart longs to see
Now as I fall off my mind it is reeling,
fading to gray now that slumber is due
Shadows and shimmers the scene now revealing,
fantasies breathe at the edge of the view
There is a field filled with beautiful flowers,
rainbows and butterflies scatter the air
As if I have some incredible powers,
here in this place that I'm longing to share
Evergreen trees line a path I am strolling,
squirrels and bluebirds at play looking on
Daffodil whispers cross hills now are rolling,
dewdrops like diamonds reflect on the lawn
Then as I see it, your smile does glisten,
warm like a summer breeze gently a'flow
Singing a song filled with love as I listen,
comfort becomes in the light of it's glow
You take my hand and my troubles start leaving,
soft as a feather this feeling of bliss
It is right now that my world is believing,
as you lean forward to give me a kiss
It's then I notice the dawning sun rising,
painting the sky as I open my eyes
Morning has come, though it is not surprising,
again just a dream, that I soon realize
It is the same every night as I'm sleeping,
almost those beautiful lips I might feel
Only to be left alone steady weeping,
finding each day is the only thing real
So as I sit here my weary heart breaking,
truth is my darkness however it seems
Another day in these moments I'm taking,
hoping again you appear in my dreams
