African Huts and Hearts
"African huts and hearts"
Give me some mud,
Give me some dry grass,
Give me some tree trunks,
And let the thatching begin
This roof over us is home.
I smell sweat,
I see smoke,
Tough strong women,
With drums of water on their heads.
Bold men as tough as their herds
A typical site of my beautiful land.
Excitement and laughter
As uGogo shares stories
With her grand kids.
Mmmmm.....the sweet aroma of Pap
The tender piglet slaughtered
For everyone burns furiously
On the fire the young boys made
Tears fall on my face,as life unfolds,
Who said rural areas were boring?
