A WANDERER

Blurry sight and squinted eyes, Spotted something under the sweaty brows Steps hurried over stumbled and fumbled. It's been years now, as I reminisce... and the thorns never stop growing, do they? with bruised foot that continued, now I know! It's a well! another well, oh well... a checkpoint I presume? It'll be empty as others as well. "I'm tired now, it seems", "Tell me life, how long has it been?" I noticed a pause, no words spared, as usual. The dusty path took me there, near and nearer... Hands on the wall, I looked down Did the dry eyes reflect a sudden sparkle? Yes...there's some water down there? "Is this the last stop?" I thought... The wandering heart answers in naught. There's more to go huh, how much then? Shrugging its shoulders, no words came. The water is cold, went down my thirsty throat, Livening up my nerves as I gloat. Still not enough, didn't feel any satiate "At least you found some water," "Right there, there's a light!" There is some, which wasn't before, albeit in crumbs, that's greed right there, but let's fret not, let's not stop our journey here. I can smell the wet grounds and the rains What sweet melody for it to travel this far, its small, but there is a spark! Afoot again, i walk now Let's meet again, if fate allows at the next stop, to the next well and I'm sure I'll have another story to tell!
