A Walk Down Memory Lane
A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE

My mind takes me there, more often than not,
To the days of years gone by.
Of a time and a place, wherever it be,
Above and beyond the sky.
A place of my own, in my own little world
With none to cry or complain.
So let me be there, alone in my thoughts
As I walk down memory lane.
Let me walk down that lane, with shadows and light,
To see all the good things and bad.
And follow that path, wherever it leads,
To times both happy and sad.
As I walk down that lane, each step that I take
Brings forth a tear or a smile.
Each memory I see slows my walk even more
And gives cause to linger awhile.
To live in the past should not be for me,
For now is the time to be.
The things that I do, the things I see
Will each make a new memory.
But I store up those thoughts of heaven sublime
That never the memories wane.
And travel with me on clouds soft and fair
As I walk down memory lane.
