A Virgin Heart
I can't explain the fear
Of my love, loving someone else.
I thought I was impassive.
It gave me comfort and freedom
From the fear of heartbreak,
But I fell into the deep trenches
Of love.
Captivated by the feeling,
I track it deeper.
I'm at a point of no return.
Enclosing walls embrace me tightly.
I'm unable to turn around
And to petrified to pursue forward.
Fear of the unknown ravage
Through my brain.
I over hear the words "trust me"
I perceive the words "I love you"
So, I proceed to tread deeper
Into the great abyss of passion.
Love, I can't comprehend.
So, I follow blindly.
Fear, I have never felt until now.
As a soldier, I would die without
Hesitation for my country.
As a man in love I would gladly
Do the same for my wife.
Now, nightmares fill my mind
Of my love loving someone else.
Now, I understand why some love
End in death.
