A Sinner Prayer
I’m Not Worthy
(A Sinner Prayer)
I’m not worthy of your blood,
I’m not worthy of your love.
I’m not worthy of your hand,
I’m not worthy of your plan.
I’m not worthy of your forgiveness,
I’m not worthy of your thoughtfulness.
I’m not worthy of your grace,
I’m not worthy of your place.
I’m simply not worthy!
O’ Dear Lord, from up above,
Why do you continue to give me love?
When I have failed you every time,
When I’ve refused to make you mine.
When I’ve let temptation come in,
When I’ve walked the road of sin.
Yet you still knock upon my heart,
Offering a brand new start.
I’m simply not worthy!
How do I learn from my mistakes?
How many trials does it take?
When will I finally take a stand?
And grasp tightly your open hand.
How can you still find the time?
To deal with a lying heart like mine.
When I’m not worthy of your love,
I don’t deserve your home above.
I’m simply not worthy!
Please forgive me.
