A Prayer
I don't pray
but I do for her
it's all that's left
and she believes
so since
there's something left
in me
that wants to pray
I ask
everything that's
happened to her
be washed away
the weight of it
lifted
that she can be
the beautiful person
she is
I know trauma
can color
every experience
and not let you
trust anyone
or anything
but
you
one who
I pray to
let her be
everything
she is
unlimited by
ugly tortuous
experience
I want nothing
need nothing
am nothing
just a voice
crying out
for her
and every
innocent soul
like her
that's all
I leave this here
to remember
