A Poet's Heart

A Poet's Heart Our loving hearts we give freely, in our enveloped, cleverly, created writ! We open our souls, quite willingly to anyone in the world to observe it. It is a gift, so uniquely knowledgable, And its meaning...maybe far more than tangible. Just consider~poets, in all the nations walk! Laugh, cry and question, the meaning of this life~a poet never balks. A poet might be a saint, who simply does not know it. But assuredly, however, one who has risen above life's mendascious pit. There's a line from Thornton Wilder's classic American play, 'Our Town,' where a young lady, who died bearing her second child but was resurrected to reexperience her 12th birthday, laments: Does anyone ever really appreciate life? The narrator of the play answers: Oh, the poets and the saints, maybe... Your wonderful poem re-echoes this remarkable scene, Panagiota. Best wishes, Gershon

Hi Gershon. Thank you for a wonderful share. Poets and saints..,right on! I never saw Our Town! But poets do have a spirutality, I feel that is more than unique. Thank you for stopping by, Chicago brother! Be well...Panagiota

I like your word choices. I always look up words when I’m not sure of the meaning or the spelling. I love the word “mendacious “
