A Hidden Beauty

If you've ever been bullied, you wouldn't be too keen, of the person who harmed you, who made you feel unseen, and though they did you wrong and hurt you various ways, you got older and realized, it was probably just a phase. For all you know, their parents bullied them, and that's why they'd ruin your experiments in chem. For all you know, their older sibling bothered them often, And when you view it that way, it causes your heart to soften. No, no, of course what they did was wrong, They made you feel as though you didn't belong. But now you're older and more mature, And these days you wouldn't allow that behavior to endure. But you were that bully to someone else because of the way you felt Because you didn't have an outlet either and you mirrored them in how you dealt. Bullying isn't beautiful, but people surely are. Choose to look beneath the mess, the flaws, that scar, Choose to give them the benefit of the doubt and raise the bar. View them as beautiful, because maybe because of you, they'll truly believe they are.
