63 and Beyond
Gained in 1957 our Independence.
Hailed by all as the Black Star, the gateway and leader to Africa's independence.
At the turn of this decade, are we truly independent?
Not yet politically, economically, and socially truly independent?
All the toil and blood of our fathers were they in vain?
God, You did indeed bless our homeland, intended her to be great and strong.
Humility truly has made us boldless and fearful
All we have is pseudo-peace: no good name worthy of upholding and defending.
No longer does honesty reign in this nation, untruth of all kinds is the order of the day.
All of our strengths and our hearts we serve Ghana not but our selfish interests.
God invigorate us to defend our heritage
Humility kindly substitute with hard work, entrench honesty and please as jara add punctuality.
And help us to resist our self-serving individualistic nature.
Nurture unto to us leaders with the state’s prosperity truly in their hearts.
And with all our will and might we shall follow them, playing our best part, forevermore.
