2020

If 2020 were a basketball or football game, we would be moving toward half-time with hope. In the first quarter, we would be winning by large margins and breaking records in many categories with all signs pointing toward 'greatness again'. Most of our first quarter was very promising until suddenly in the quarter, we took a nosedive into unchartered waters, causing fear and erasing fortunes. I never imagined a day when hugging and being hugged were luxuries no longer affordable, and standing six feet apart was necessary protocol. Never since World War two have we been so sanitized, shaken, and shattered, but if anyone for any reason was asleep at the wheel, they were quickly awakened. Never in my lifetime had I seen bottled water and toilet paper so desperately desired. Many of us were stimulated by a $1200 check from the treasury to ease CORONA'S pain. The stench of death and threats of doom have covered the pages and screens of the media for most of 2020, but Spring has sprung and Summer is breaking forth with the promise of a song. So many would identify with the scattered bits of the lyrics from an old song that comes to mind, "Shattered dreams, wounded hearts, broken toys". And if I could sing and carry a tune, I would make music with words I heard recently from a sermon by my pastor. "We are not lost but are being led by God" 052220PSCtest, 2020, Craig Cornish. 10P
