The Mysterious Hotel
One day a hotel appears out of nowhere in Halifax on the Waterfront and nobody knows how the hotel ended up in Halifax or why it is there.
Sharon Thurstring, a news reporter from the Halifax Herald newspaper is sent to the mysterious hotel to go and investigate it from the inside. She agrees as she says she is not afraid of anything. But as soon as Sharon Thurstring steps onto the hotel property she is filled with an overwhelming and gut wrenching feeling of fright and her legs begin to shake. But she is not someone to give up her job just because of fear. She goes up to the hotel door and enters. As soon as she does the hotel vanishes and disappears.
The hotel is a space ship designed to look like a hotel. It is from planet skittles and that is where it goes back now that Sharon Thurstring is on the space craft in the hotel. It happens so fast that she has no clue what has happened. It happens in the blink of an eye.
When Sharon Thurstring finds out where she is she wants to go back home but can’t. She is sad and upset. She is also angry and mad. She wants to blame her boss for giving her the job. She also blames herself for taking the job.
Suddenly new fears and worries pop into her head. Will she ever get home? Is she stuck on Planet Skittles forever and what will the aliens do to her? Also how will she communicate with the aliens? She is filled with worry, fear and stress and does not like having these feelings. Will she ever see her beloved family again?
The aliens want her to help them but she won’t so she is locked up in a dark and disgusting dungeon until she decides to obey the aliens and help them. In the dungeon there are cockroaches, rattlesnakes and rats. It is a cold miserable and depressing place. You would think no one would be able to live in those conditions but Sharon Thurstring is one stubborn person. Her stubbornness can be her best friend and also her worst enemy.
While in the dungeon for months it seems or maybe just weeks Sharon Thurstring comes to the realization that she needs to learn the language that the aliens speaks. The message comes to her in a dream from God, the almighty and powerful from the heavens above. He tells her that she needs to stop being so stubborn and that if she ever wants to be released and get back home she needs to be able to communicate with the aliens and find out what they want from her. He also tells her that he is and always be watching out for her. He will keep her safe and let no harm come to her. so the next day Sharon picks up a book that the aliens left for her and the flashlight they left for her and everyday she tries to learn alien language. When the aliens come down to bring her meals she begins to talk to them. At first it is hard to converse with them but as time goes on she begins to have fluent conversations with the ailiens and understand what they are saying back to her. Sharon finds that she is still afraid to pop the question and find out what they want from her and why she is the chosen one and not someone else. But finally one day Sharon pops the question. The aliens want her to help them build a machine that will transport them to all of the other planets so that they can visit friends in other colonies. Sharon is relieved. She had come to the conclusion that they wanted to take over planet earth but in reality they wanted nothing to do with planet earth and wanted to stay clear of humans. Besides They didn’t want to be made famous and be broadcasted on the news all of the time. Sharon agrees to help build the machine. She is immediately brought out of the dungeon and every day begins to work on the machine with the aliens help. She now sleeps in the space craft hotel. Well finally the day arrives when the machine is complete. The aliens try it out and it works. The next day Sharon is sent back to planet earth. It is a happy reunion to be back in familiar surroundings and also to be back on her job. Sharon now has become a writer and a public speaker. She has written a book on her experiences and goes around and gives talk shows. People see her as famous but she still feels like an ordinary person. She still manages to also work as a journalist. And also misses her time with the aliens. She would give anything to spend just one more day with the aliens and be on planet skittles just one more time but then again she is happy to be on earth and get together with friends for a cup of coffee and laugh and share stories.
