My house painting

My son said the house would look nice painted, I will help you,

I thought that's a good idea it will give him something to do,I

So i decided to paint my house buttermilk,

First should I have vinyl or should I have silk,

Then I found out that masonry paint I must use,

Other paint to the rendering would not fuse,

So dulux was the paint of my choice, weathershield,

How much paint would it take, ten liters my son revealed,

That's not bad I thought to myself,

Went to the diy and got ten liters off the shelf,

Then started to paint under the porch, around the windows,

The surface was rough, got paint all over my cloths,

After about thirty minutes It occurred to me, I had painted a house before,

This thought came into my head, as five liters gone and only up to the door,

Ten liters gone and only a tenth of the house was done,

At this stage I felt like killing my son,

There was no going back, I was committed, the rest had to be done,

I had this feeling that this task was not going to be much fun,

This weathershield paint was really good but the cost was too high,

So a cheaper brand, same colour of cause, i would have to buy,

Buttermilk and buttermilk I thought to be the same no matter what,

But to my dismay, two different brands are definitely not,

Another ten liters I did purchase, to finish under the porch and above,

The little bit that we had done, the look we really did love,

Above the porch was something I had to work out,

if I fell off the roof of the porch I would hurt myself without a doubt,

I thought scaffolding all the way around was he way to go,

Then when I got the estimate, that idea was a definite no,

Over a thousand pounds to hire for a week that was to dear,

My problem with ladders and height I would have to overcome my fear,

A set of ladders was my next thing to purchase, to the top they will extend,

That's no problem, I have no problem with heights I would pretend,

So back to above the porch again, out the window and on the roof,

On a mattress so not to crack the tiles, terrified to tell the truth,

Trying to be careful not to get paint everywhere, while moving along,

Crack went tile after tile, paint all over the flashing, what else could go wrong,

Made it to the end, now away to get down without causing any harm,

Best way is down a ladder, just relax try to keep calm,

Now to the side and the back, the chimney is only twenty six feet high,

The ladders will reach, but the thought, if I fall I will surely die,

Decided to go up to the guttering and no further than that,

Thought to myself still another twelve feet to the top you prat,

Completed the back of the house, well except for bits and bobs,

Still thinking of that chimney, wish I didn't take on these jobs,

With the chimney not painted it did look a bit dire,

So only one thing for it, a scaffold tower I would hire,

Erecting the scaffold I found a difficult task, didn't feel very stable,

Weather I could get to the top of the chimney, don't know if I would be able,

I found that up to the height of the guttering was my limit, what a tangle,

The only way to finish the job is with a paint roller with a long handle,

Well one hundred liters of paint later, the jobs now all done,

I didn't kill my lad I couldn't find where to buy a gun.
