The Government Killed My Dog

This is basically the update regarding the toxins and my dog.

She was a happy girl, by my side 24 hours a day for 10 and half years
We walked every day, inspiring many of my poems here
She was smart and knew how to be cute, on command
She loved her treats and her belly rubbed too, leading to the name, Bella
Her sense of smell was so strong, she detected scent everywhere
She liked to chase the chipmunks that scurried in the yard
She was a small dog, only 20 pounds, but acted larger, braver!
She had no fear of bear in the yard or large trucks on the street

Then in February 2023, a train derailed in E Palestine Ohio
It carried toxic chemicals on many train cars in the crash
Our Government decided to deliberately BURN the chemicals
This created a large plume of combined chemicals and dioxins,
that traveled with weather systems over 500 miles!
All the birds in my area fled, as I sat in eerie silence all around
Then one day, I went out into the snow and was hit with toxic stench
My dog Bella stuck her nose in the snow and vomited

From there, we both got sick and ended up with some new health issues
She couldn't go outside without gagging or reacting to them
Tests of my soil proved numerous carcinogenic chemicals and dioxins
My dog Bella, ended up with sudden heart issues that dioxins cause
It is now May 6, 2024 and my dog died yesterday after a lot of suffering
Her cough haunts my mind and her suffering, these people caused
The Government killed my dog and I witnessed all of it happen
My heart breaks, my mind spins and there are no other words for this atrocity!

Dear Heidi, your heart-wrenching account of the loss of your beloved dog Bella is truly devastating. The deep bond you shared with her shines through every word, from the cherished memories of walks and play to the pain of witnessing her suffering. The government's decision to burn toxic chemicals resulting from the train derailment led to catastrophic consequences, robbing you of your companion and causing irreparable harm. I truly feel your anguish and frustration are palpable, as you grapple with the injustice of it all. Your story serves as a stark reminder of the far-reaching impact of environmental negligence and the profound grief it inflicts. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time. - Blessings, Daniel

So sorry to hear that Heidi, it's the sort of thing that happens in a third world country, not the United States. Cant believe the cover up that's going on. Tom
