The Watchers

Like sparks from the eternal black flame
They go forth to evaluate whomever the upper realm may name
With wings that are iridescent black with a hue of blue tint
They steadfastly carry out their commander’s intent
Lunging forward and downward then capturing air as their wings unfurl
Their eyes seem mystical and have the appearance of a black pearl
Cawing and suddenly appearing in the person’s path to demand attention
They lock eyes and gather evidence for the elite of the fourth dimension
Through one’s eye they gain access to the individual’s soul
And measure the heart-is it a fraction? Or is it whole?
After examination they report back to the flame from which they emanated
Courtesy of the watchers-another’s fate is weighed and calculated
