Wasted

I can't help but feel
this life has been wasted
Putting together pieces to the wrong puzzle
They have to be forced and then pasted

Tying a ribbon on a beautiful present
But it's just too short to go around
Searching and searching for something that never existed
so it never can be found

Putting on a shirt
With not enough buttons for all of the holes
Putting on the right play
But with all the wrong roles

Waiting at the wrong bus stop
But at the right time
When asked, I say I'm ok,
But have I ever really been fine?

I shape shift to try and be
The right amount, route, size...enough
And just pray no one can see
Through this life long bluff

It has meaning. and at times it occures. The nothingness of life.

So many live always trying to live up to unrealistic expectations. The right play, wrong roles. I like that
