Daddys Joy

She was born into this world as Daddy's joy but people broke Daddy so instead of getting angry at them he took his joy and turned her into his toy. Breaking her down, slamming her, and throwing her against the wall.
All she wanted was to give him hope that this cruel cold world could be warm again but he used her kindness to destroy her faith in life and made her afraid of everything.

Daddy was there when she was first over the winning line, daddy was there when she first lost a tooth. Daddy was there when a boy broke her heart and Daddy was there when her world fell apart.

Racing down the highway he could hear her screaming in fear, asking Daddy not to drive so fast. He had been drinking and could hear the people's words in his head, telling him that he would never be good enough. Heading straight for the bridge he finally heard her scream as he pulled the steering straight but it was too late, Daddy had broken her trust in the world.

Daddy was there when she had her first dance, Daddy was there when she needed that extra hug. Daddy was there the night she came home with tears rolling down her cheek as the world around her came crashing down in a blink.

Sitting in the chair drunk and upset, she was in the wrong place at the wrong time as he started to yell. She tried to calm him down but rage filled his eyes as he grabbed her around her throat and clenched tight. She tried to speak but he wouldn't listen, she tried to fight back but her world started to fade.
Daddy's joy laid motionless, she didn't have to be afraid anymore. The world she once feared couldn't get to her anymore.
