Closing Hour

pale hair glides through a bustling city street
closing hour exposes faces of defeat
eating, eating, sleeping, sleeping
repeating, repeating, repeating

liquor spills from the hand of lost soul
licking flames ignite from hot coals
inviting hands reach out for her to hold
innately knowing she’s lost control

mashed up windows grab at her reflection
tired eyes look into them for a connection
she’s begging for the right perception
other eyes only see misconception

mouths always move too fast
what they say is vast
heart lies in a cracked cast
what she has to say comes last

demons in corners come out to play
thin paths guide her through the maze
swollen sounds put her in a deeper daze
she’s praying her life is just in a phase

Great rhymes in your poem. It flows really well. I could feel the despair in your words.. so much vivid imagery in this one.
