Northern Light

I take a deep breath
My lungs are burning
The air is like ice
Making my skin feel numb
like it is no part of me anymore
A last bit of warmth lies deep inside of me
But it is slowly fading away
The arctic sky above
Makes me feel so insignificant
In awe I watch
Shimmering colors
Ever changing shapes
Waves of beauty
Rearranging and reinventing
Toxic, glowing materia
Clashing against an invisible shield
I take down my armor
And expose myself
I trust you not to hurt me
How long will it last
How long will it feel good
Before you consume me
Kill every cell of my body
Will I be able to turn away
Or will I keep looking
Can I protect myself
Do I want it to stop
Or is pain better than nothing
Was it a lie
A self created illusion
Was is my fault
Will i ever learn
This dancing sky
Is mesmerizing
I should go inside
And lock the door
Start a fire again
And slowly feel the warmth return
Or I just lie down in the snow
and look up to you
As a tear runs down my cheek
I fall into an eternal sleep

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
