Tired

I'm tired,
tired of being someone I'm not.
Tired of trying to be a good son to my parents,
or a liability to a friend.
I'm tired,
Tired of chasing someone who'll never be mine,
like a snow flake in the middle of the Sahara,
I exist where there is no existence.
Existential crisis is an understatement in this mind of mine.

I'm tired,
tired of the hope that exists in the world.
It latches on to you till the very end,
causing havoc on its way.
Isn't hope bad I ask?
The answer I get is silence.
Everyone hopes for it to end well, and maybe hope is what run's this world.
But not my world,
not my world anymore.

I'm tired,
tired of the fake positivity being spread around.
'Think positive and let bygones be bygones' they say,
how can we get rid of our flaws I ask,
if we don't accept them as they are.
You can't mend a broken heart with words of wisdom from Gandhi or King,
The only positivity there is should come from within.

Dear Vishwajit, welcome to PoetrySoup. I love this part so much "Tired of chasing someone who'll never be mine, like a snow flake in the middle of the Sahara," I agree the only positivity has to come from within, and I suspect you have it in oodles.
