Growing up in the great Willamette Vally in Oregen I was very blessed to live on a farm and experience many harsh realities of life such as chores, taking care of live stock and also the slaughter of those beasts. So I learned of life and death in a very early and real and way.
I have always been artist and spent my youth in sketching rather than sports, fishing or hunting. I even got removed from school once for characterizing all my teachers and writing little silly rhymes of them all. that was my first attempt of scribing to rhyme.
wehn I grew up and had a family of my own I became a Journeyman Sign Painter. I spent the nest 20 years of doing that. I transfered my talents over to being a Sign Designer due to an accident I had. I could'nt work any of the high walls or billboards any more.
After my 1st Grandaught was born, for some reason, I just started rhyming things and decided to write my first book "Grampa's Bedtime Rhymes" for her. There was a time of about six months where I could not speak without being in rhymes and even now am very fluent in speaking and composing in that form. Drives my wife nut sometimes.
I really don't know how many poems I have authored but at last count it was somewhere close to 500 with 2 published books and a third that is finished and illustrated but not yet publicly published and another that is just scripted.
I love to compose rhymes because they remind me of music without the notes. The rythem, the currents and the cadance just entrances me so. And that is me in a nut shell.
