Delicate Dimensions

The Shepherd asked the poetess-
Who are you?
Twinkling her eyes, the poetess
said-who am I.

Am I a breath or a death;
breeze or a storm;
am I soothed or havocked?
I am blazed and ashed.

Am I a flower or a crackling leaf;
sand or a sea;
rock or a snow?
I am a droplet and a wavelet.

Am I a mystic sky or a fog;
cloud or a smoke;
hazed or dazed?
I am a dew and blue.

Am I a moon or its shadow;
real or a fake;
peace or a mayhem?
I am resting and running.

Am I desired or  scraped;
slapdash or deliberate;
gem or a junk?
I am nerdish and doltish.

O! dear shepherd
who cares and
wonders who am I?

I am a treasure of pleasure,
I am a glow and a blow,
I am tender and blender,
I am your treasured flow.

Insanity

Insanity

That insane
In the dark corner
of the narrow lane
helpless and hesitant
because she’s dumb

That insane
laughing on her voice
scratching her body,
and innocent face
blackened of
taints of madness.
A little lady in
tattered clothes
alone in crowd
searching someone
of her own.

People laugh at her
and she laughs back
with dazzled eyes
in sparkling
lights of motor cars.

Does she really
know-fast moving vehicles ?
Is she aware of her
empty stomach ?
Is she aware of her
nakedness ?
Does she feel-
strokes of sun and rain ?

Quiet in the corner
with dusty body,
sleeping on newspaper
with uncombed hair.
Scary children call
her devil but she
was scared of
own loneliness.

Wondering how her
people left alone !
Wondering at Almighty
for giving no identity !

That insane
may die some
day, free from
insane world
in same dark corner
in same lane.

Drama On Social Media

Drama on Social Media

With every passing day
and every passing hour
world comes closer,
globe contracts
with silvery lustre
of social media.

Some, call this media
a social monster,
others, addicted badly,
few, known for moderate use
for purpose and reason.

It is the platform of continuous drama
of uniting friends and foes,
art and the artists,
leaders and the bidders,
entertainers and commoners,
gossipers and chatters.

It’s the platform of melodrama
bringing angel and fairy closer
displaying their lovely chats to public,
making tantrums and shouts in public,
their cat & dog match viewed widely,
entertaining the world of netizens.

And, one day..
angel and fairy
bid farewell
closing all their accounts
blocking and quitting social media
to end one more social media drama.

Soon, the new accounts were
opened,
fairy is seen with another angel,
angel is seen with other fairy
to begin one more entertaining
drama on social media.

Catastrophe

Catastrophe

Kedarnath-
The protector and the destroyer
still stands erect in his foyer
amidst the stunning mountain scape
where Mandakini flows by His nape
like a running pilgrim’s horde
where Nandi keeps his guard.

Oh! the cloud-burst and the deluge
Swept away the crowd- so noisy, so huge
Out of the shrine where Shiva’s grace
Was felt by the mob by his swiveling mace.

Oh! how could he save so savage the men
Who had incurred Shiva’s bane?
Greedy men with saggy morals in league
With corrupt power and earthy hunger so big
Luring them to make inroads in the heart of Nature
The nature who is Shiva’s Better Half
In forms and feature!!

Trusting the Trust

Trusting The Trust
                         	 Dr. Shefali Chitre
I trust the trust
not because
it is good
to trust.

I trust the trust
for it
is my habit
to trust.

I trust the trust
for it
reminds me
of myself.

But it scares me
sometimes
to trust
the trust.

While treading
the dark waters
carefully,
and believing
in instincts
and not opinions
my mind forms
an endless
tempest of confusion
on seeing
the sight
of stork meditating
at the river site.

O ! mentor
tell me
if I’m
trusting
the untrustable?

Life -An Ocean

Life- an Ocean

I am an ocean
to carry
memories of strife
with the waves of life.

I am an ocean’s leaf
to float on time
with a taste
of sweet lime.

I am an ocean
to hold everything in me.
I am an ocean
to hold my voice unheard
till I find an ear to listen.

Unseen Transformation

Unseen Transformation
                                                           Dr. Shephali Chitre

On hearing whispers
I opened my eyes
and found little
angel standing
on his small feet,
blinking at me
with sunshine
smile.

Lost in his
rosy cheeks
and sweet laughter
I asked him
‘Do you know me child ?’
I found my
answer in his
sparkling eyes
and countenance
full of love-
These innocent angels
know no relations
know no creed
know no pride

Then when do these angels
lose innocent eyes
to eyes of hatred ?
When do their
angelic canvas mutated
to malice and hatred ?

Crazy Busy-Ness

Crazy Busy-ness
Walking
in a pool of sharks,
floating in
a great ocean of possibilities,
sliding fast
the great whales of knowledge
with the tentacles of
courage and experience
searching for the sea shell
to sit calmly and
to marvel at the
intricate art of mother nature
and her best creature-human being
through
the art of poetry and literature.

Between Darkness and Light

BETWEEN DARKNESS AND LIGHT

I pitied my neighbor
on sultry afternoon of summer.
He tip-tapped his red-bottomed cane
and examined all corners and the lane.

His hazy gaze
and lightless sockets of eyes
couldn’t discriminate
between dark and the light.

Now I pitied myself
for the darkness all around:
darkness of this material world
where the flags of poverty and power are unfurled.

The flags have a flutter
of power and ego
wherethrough the muscle and glitter
of pelf steals the show.

My pity of my self is still in right
for the light around me is no more bright.
I feel myself to have been thrown
into this pitchness of dark
where patterns of lights and shadow
are no more to known.

Dreamy Dreams

Dreamy Dreams

My dreams are
neither black
nor white,
my dreams are
neither illusion
nor dilution.

My dreams are
colourful as rainbow,
fruition of desires
to meet my horizons
with thousand stars
in my eyes.
