Winds Return

A fog bank on the Horizon,
As a barrier to our way.
And oh the sea, so tranquil,
No breeze to ruffle it's face.
        Our ship drifting aimlessly,
           Her sails hang motionless.
Like peace fullness, the stillness brings,
            It teaches Hearts to rest.
Some sailing on this ship of life,
            See Doldrums as an end
          Take courage fellow seafarers,
             The winds will come again.

The Songs of Nature

To hear the songs of nature,
so pleasant to my soul.
Listening intently,
I want to learn them all.

Even as a child at home,
I heard them in the night.
Sitting on our front porch,
Singing in starlight.

In the day, I'd stop my play,
and listen to bird songs.
Often times a solo,
or singing of the throngs.

I suppose I'll never know,
what birds and crickets say,
bullfrogs by the pond,
or horses when they nah.

With their songs, I'll stay content,
I have for all these years.
Thankful for the music,
the songs of nature shared.

Puerto Rico Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico
Have you survived the storm ?
The hurricanes the hurricanes
no mercy do they show.
We ask eternal question
what have we done wrong
Don't blame yourselves,it's no ones fault
Nor punishment from God
Time and unforeseen occurance
I've learned be falls us all.
Prayers are the saving hope
Prayers for our souls.

The Quest

Some say 'I can't find the words'
the challenge is to great.
For expressing their hearts cravings
or horrendous fears at gate.
Surely words exist, sufficient for the role
insufficientes for poets,on us they have no hold.
Compelling quest of passion, for jewels that speak so pure
yes dignified and lofty, nobility of words.
To satisfy our hearts demands
our quest reaps joy and pain.
We know our love of poetry
will never in vain.

The Whale

snow capped mountains gleem
                    Reflect on waters surface
                             whale breaches

My Flower Garden

Come join me for a few moments
in my flower garden.
Sit with me ,on the bench
under the rose of sharon tree.
Feel the autum sun on our faces.
Do you remember Emily,and that-
slant of light ? I thank her for that.
We need these moments, dont we ?
See that rose bush over there,
I think there is a rivalry,
with the cana plant.
Each gets taller and more
beautiful every day .
In the sunlight
their petals glow.
Oh look,an inch worm has joined us!

Endurance

We must now endure,
The storm did rage,
Fear on every face.
Can this be real?
Some denying still.
We are caged,
In this sheltered place.
But we survived,
The brave saved our lives.
Learn now, " We must endure "

The Forest

On a country road,
                   Summer sun intensifies.
                        Forest now quiet.
