A.O. Taner Poem
Don't rush to wash off the sea salt
drying on your skin;
the hopes it carries from other oceans,
those remain yet to be seen.

the shortest road
is the one that you know
the longest road
is the one that you love

A.O. Taner Poem
have you ever felt like
the flashing red light on the roof,
lonely as ever
visible at night, useless by day?
in sync with its partner next door
for a quick kiss over a few flashes only
then arguing again and again
night in, night out.
have you ever felt like
the flashing red light on the roof,
not signaling a warning to keep away
but sending a call for compassion?
using the dark pauses in between
to yell the same name
over and over and over
into the emptiness of each night.
have you ever felt like
the flashing red light on the roof,
being your silent cry
only heard by your eternal love?

A.O. Taner Poem
is it the wave kissing the sand
or is it the ocean
- deep from her heart
sometimes gently,
often hard,
but always with passion?
is it the sand kissing back
or is it the land
- happily losing ground
with every kiss
to his eternal mistress,
the occupant of his soul?
is it this poem touching your heart
or is it our souls
- hugging each other
on a sandy beach,
wide and infinite,
day in and day out?

A.O. Taner Poem
there came a time,
more than a moment
pained and slow,
begging to surrender.
regrets flew, hopes landed
tears swam, games ended.

A.O. Taner Poem
imagine the rainbow being
the dark tunnel
you've been stuck in for years
the lighthouse on the horizon,
the beam
that gets brighter as it nears
get soaked in the rain,
feel the sun in your heart,
let go of all your fears.

A.O. Taner Poem
it's not the sun that rises each morning
it's my mind setting into the light;
it's not the sun that sets each evening
it's her soul rising onto the night.

A.O. Taner Poem
Love is a four letter word
she whispered into his ear,
So is four, as is word
he whispered back into her fear,
Such is "you and I"
cried his heart - she could hear,
Their cheeks hugged, eyes kissed
each shedding a single tear.
