She's a Friend Indeed

I Googled poetry sites
one day in December
One click brought me here
to this place
this site that's
filled with verse and
rhyme and cinquain
Haiku too.
I felt lost among the
poets there were
thousands.
And one stood out
her name caught my eye.
SKAT offered a tapestry
of harmony and tranquility
beautiful vibes with warmth
that made me want to stay
She's compassionate
and insightful
I see her humanity
first hand
I told her of my son
she was real with
tenderheartedness.
Thank you, SKAT
for everything.

Young Dr Frankenstein

Higgledy-Piggledy,
Young Dr. Frankenstein.
thought he was able to
cook up a man.
baking and broiling and
incomprehensible
things to invent such a
Frankenstein plan.

Year Sixteen

The year fifteen has gone away
It’s memories scattered still
The year sixteen has come to stay

I must remember each new day
And each life and new thrill
The year fifteen has gone away

A life is worth all they say
friendship blends love and skill
The year sixteen has come to stay

I’ll work some and then I’ll play
life of love; mine to fill
The year fifteen has gone away

I want to live for each new day
spread my love and goodwill
The year sixteen has come to stay

I cheer a brand new year today
hopeful heart you will fulfill
The year fifteen has gone away
The year sixteen has come to stay

My Car's a Mustang

No Cobra 427
in my Mustang
come on girls
you know what I mean.

No leather interior
in my Mustang
come on gals
you get what I mean.

My Mustang has the
manual shift
don't you girls
know what I mean?

My Mustang has leather
exterior
can't you gals
get what I mean?

My Mustang races
at breakneck speeds
I ride on his back
a grin on my face.

By now you've guessed
what my Mustang is
not only my ride
he's the friend by my side.

Dancing With Lilacs

I dance through lilacs
madness of the pitch black room
lunacy leaves me

What Is War

War
is only
blood, sweat, tears
smothered dreams and death
war

White World

This is a Burmese climbing rhyme. It needs work. But we have had so much snow, of course, I thought about snowbirds. Haha.

White world snowbird
Hunts lunch blurred under fluff
He heard the seed would be there
Bird didn’t have a prayer; the crow
What share could he give the corvine
Better the bovine give him the boot
Or murine play tag with that twitterer
Crows are for the birds
The best words I can tell you
Two-thirds of them are no good
The seed blew through ice crystals
It flew over the cuckoos nest.

A New Year

A New Year

Writing poems of rhyme and free verse

poetry with joy and heart and loving and vision

I shall write well, and post them on Poetry Soup I'll be

a wordsmith of alliteration, adonic, allusion, and aubade

and all of this will be my emotional release and magical

desire along with truly pursuing more outlets of

                  poetry publications and friendships too

with my new friends on PS

                                 I’ll be a real poet

                                      Forever

                                        more
