David Alan Garrick Poem
A FISH FRY
David Alan Garrick
1993
Alarms will ring while in the dark
That dog you hear is your own bark
A minute more would be so sweet
But thoughts lead to that porcelain seat
The clothes you found still on the floor
They’ve been there seems a year or more
That sleepy woman you just awoke
Is laughing cause your always broke
The car is packed, the boat is hitched
Your battery’s dead, now ain’t that rich
You call your buddy for a jump
And he’s still rolled up in a lump
Breakfast is waiting at the diner
Here comes daybreak, make it minor
The traffic has not started yet
This officer you’ve never met
The water looks so mighty fine
But you’re the fifth one back in line
Rumor says the fish are bitin’
Hope they cannot see the lightnin’
Chancin it just might pay off
The sun may shine and scare them off
You reach that spot you like so well
And find the bait’s at home; oh hell

David Alan Garrick Poem
Gold
David Alan Garrick
2008
It may have been Ten or Twenty pounds
The very beginning and not much it sounds
Athens and Greece are calling me
I must start here is the philosophy.
I do not walk this path alone
A voice not heard yet, a softer tone
Every sun will bring me closer
My God is He who already chose her
Egyptian Kings have seen this day
For each one knows this hardest way
A city in Europe makes me compete
The music I hear sounds of my feat.
Each disk I add with each new age
Before me lies that biggest stage
My strength now grows and grows and grows
Soon I must face my mightiest foes.
Into my life there is no girl finer
There is even more power now that she is Steiner
For eternity this Lady shall lift my bar
From beyond the Galaxy She is not so far.
I must reach now down deep inside
Without her I want to only hide
She has journeyed to Heaven but does not rest
Her most Divine voice will bring out my best.
To Asia I travel with thoughts of past
Those big red disks and Her memory last
My heart is the very heaviest weight
From Bejing Her and I lift 5 6 8.

David Alan Garrick Poem
The days are oh so long
The nights so dark and cold
You came to read the signs
Down on BEULAH BLVD
The first of many journeys
The potholes hidden and deep
You will find a light still burning
Down on BEULAH BLVD
If you should bend a rim
And your battery runs out
You can always get repairs
Down on BEULAH BLVD
Soon your engines running
And your back on the road
You found a new direction
Down on BEULAH BLVD

David Alan Garrick Poem
The Rebirth
David Alan Garrick
1993
A child is born today
With feelings not expressed
It will shine with every sun
And with laughter it is blessed
The frame of God’s creation
With land and air and sea
It’s purity to cherish
It’s destruction a tragedy
Through the tests of man’s abundance
And the scheme of better things
Confusion soon takes over
All humanity begins to bleed
An illusion of serenity
For all the world to see
The truth that lies beneath
Will be witnessed beyond the eaves
A glow from deep within
An anger unbelieved
This final generation
Will never pass this grief
A child is born today
With feelings not expressed
It will shine with every sun
And with peace it will be blessed
