Always Yours

(Meant to be read fast like rapping)

I’m trying to place all your beauty and grace

And to chase and embrace every memory that ever was

Hunting past ghosts and old posts and love notes to see if anything can jolt this mind of mine

But it’s gonna be a while in denial till your smile turns the dial and resets this heart of mine

And it’s gonna take time to remind the divine to align the design inside this soul of mine

The fact of the matter is
I’m back and I’m better
Like a post script letter
And I promise I will never fetter

I wish you could comprehend the twists and bends this journey sends me on

I wish you could see the glee inside of me that frees the seas and shakes my knees

I want you to hold my heart that beats in part and won’t depart from next to you

Stay close
Don’t go
Wait a little longer and I swear I’ll have the flow

Come step
Inside
Let me show you why this is love I can’t deny

In time
You find
Every little thing I did had you in mind

Fear

It grips you like a dying man
On his last breath with regret to reveal
It weighs you down like cement
Tied to your legs before entering the water
It drives you crazy like the second hand
Running in circles on the clock
Fear is debilitating like a missing leg
Preventing you from standing up for yourself
A war forever waged across the battlefield of life
Each victory prepares you for the next fight
Each defeat sends you running in retreat
Fear is a guest not welcome in your home
Do not let it past the threshold
Fear is a tenant not paying rent
Evict it before it tears your building down
We all have within us the tools to succeed
Use strength as your hammer
Confidence as your nails
Constructing your salvation
Building your freedom
Once completed, maintain it you must
For fear has no place
In your brave new world

Seasons Change

To sprout from your creator

To be nurtured and fed

Surrounded by your family

Only love ahead

Growing up

Days pass by

Seasons change

The love survives

As time runs out

You try to hang on

Your family smiles

Tells you to come along

As you fall to the earth

With the wind on your back

No longer afraid

Love always intact

When you return to the earth

There is no more grief

One more season

In the life of a leaf

My Soul

My soul hungers
It searches for satiation
Constantly craving convergence
Thirsting to thrive
My soul, the devourer of dimensions
Digesting the universe and filling the vacuum
An unrelenting engulfment of the unknown
Feeding on novas of knowledge
My soul creates
Tendrils trace out to terraform
Gestating galaxies
Shaping spatial surroundings
My soul, the cartographer of the cosmos
Sailing the solar winds
Navigating the nocturnal nebulas
Venturing through the void
My soul needs nourishment
My soul yearns for yours

I Miss Her

I miss her like the rain in June
Like a breeze on my cheek
I miss her like a cliffhanger
Like a whisper at night

I miss the way her eyes
See my every intention
Guide me through her soul
And watch over me

I miss the way her voice
Weaved into my very being
Words carry me into oblivion
And cradle my existence

I miss her like a gentle kiss
Like the moon’s reflection on water
I miss her like a promise kept
Like a love that never aged

I miss her now
I’ll miss her then
I missed her once before
I’ll miss her every moment till
I’m her’s forever more

Whispers and Echoes

Whispers and echoes
I’ve known you before
Souls touching and singing
Through lifetimes adored

Hold on so much tighter
The wait nears its end
Soon dreams manifest
And for you I will send

Home is with you
Safely snuggled next to me
A life so deserved
You are finally free

I’m yours forever
With you I’ll grow old
On this journey together
Two bodies one soul

As the Clock Ticks

As the clock ticks
The stars tuck me in
Each second passes into oblivion
The night welcomes me
Eyes stay open
Body grows weary
The final flickers of activity
Closing up shop inside

As the clock ticks
Shadows dance on the wall
The blankets clutch me
I feel every part of me
My soul lays down
Body grows weary
Closing up shop

As the clock ticks
Noises wish me goodnight
Questioning my resilience
Mind begins to fade
Body grows weary
Closing up

As the clock ticks
My pillow holds the world
Dreams overtake reality
Body grows weary
Closing

As the clock ticks
Body shuts down

I Love You

Never has a silence been so deafening

Throwing static in all directions

A thousand words screaming from the mind

Filling the void with copious confusion

A moment into a millenia

Breath is held like a door for someone who isn't coming

Thoughts are solar flares

Every previous interaction is recalculated

Nerve endings tense

She whispers back

"I love you, too"

There You Are

When the nights are cold
And my soul seems broken
When the fire inside needs care
And I don’t have any more wood

There you are to tend to my flame
To heat my world

When sadness takes precedent
And the subsequent storm approaches
As the rain pounds my head
And the thunder shakes my convictions

There you are to give me shelter
Wrapping your heart around mine

When I am laid bare
And my scars are on display
As I cringe at each one
Frightened they are my undoing

There you are, tracing with your hands
Accepting every wound

My imperfections
My mistakes
Each blemish and cut
I am not perfect
But you love me like I am

And when you stumble
And worry you aren’t enough
When your light dims
And the thunder rolls

There I will be forever
Holding you just as you held me

Lunacy

Your beautiful visage envelopes me
In my darkest hours
I stare into your waxing glow
Can you stay a little longer?
I count the hours each day
Till our next meeting under the stars
So badly do I want to hold you
Why are you so far away?
I know one day we will converge
And I can wait a little longer
As the days become months
My love will not wane
Just as your light will never dim
