Me

Words like this don’t come easy to me, but sometimes,
they’re the only thing to express…
For the longest time, I’ve been in love with you.
Three years, and my feelings haven’t changed a bit.
I’ve tried to bury them,
to make them go away, but they won’t.
For the longest time,
I succeeded.
I was able to forget about you.
Make myself believe I was over you,
but that was a lie.
After a time, when I started thinking about you again,
 I realized that I wasn’t over you.
My feelings had only gotten stronger.
There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think,
“This would be better if she was with me”
Your laugh makes me smile,
and your eyes make me melt inside.
I love the way you laugh when somethings funny,
and the way you smile too.
I only wish that I was the reason you were smiling.
Everytime I see you, my day gets so much better.
But I know that it’ll never happen.
That you’re too good for me.
It makes me happy to think that one day you’ll be happy.
But it makes me sad to realize the truth.
That it won’t be with me.
The best things in life are also the worst.
Because you make my life so much better,
but you also make it so much worse.
So everyday, I try to forget about you.
I try to forget your smile,
your laugh,
your eyes.
But all it does is remind me of you.
And that makes it hurt all the more.

---I decided to do a little writing about me. It was a real eye-opener. I just sat down a wrote whatever came to me. Everything in this is true, and was written completely from the heart. :)

Ode To the Lost

The letter that sits unfinished,
the tear that will not fall,
there is nothing more to give,
because she already gave it all.

The cuts that will not fade,
the scars that will not heal.
You will not let them leave,
because they’re the only way you can feel.

The girl that sits there wondering,
laying alone at night,
Will she ever be enough?
Will she ever be alright?

The boy in the corner crying,
because his father beat his mom,
and when that beating is over,
to him it will carry on.

These are the kids that sit alone,
and will never be enough.
These are the kids that will leave,
when the going gets too much.

So remember the kids that sit there,
crying alone at night.
remember the kids that are no longer,
able to put up a fight.

Because it’s just a matter of time,
before these kids, they leave.
These are the kids whose flaws,
are the reasons that they grieve.

All it takes is a smile,
a look, hug, or a kiss.
To turn these lost kids’ pain,
into neverending bliss.

So as you sit here wondering,
what it’s like to be alone at night.
Just sit there and remember,
that you can help them fight.

I want you to remember,
that there’s always someone worse than you.
I just want you to realize,
there’s always more than just you.

The End

The End

“This is the end”
She thinks.
As she sits on the edge of a bridge.
Overlooking the city she once called her home.
She thinks of the times when she would play,
laugh,
smile,
enjoy her life.
But those times are gone
Now,
all she sees is a prison.
Keeping her from the happiness she needs.
All there is now, is pain
tears, bitterness, and a dead heart.
The one boy, she’d ever loved,
didn’t love her back.

Or so she thought.

What she doesn’t know,
Is that this boy is currently walking.
Just a few more seconds,
and he sees her.
and instantly knows what is going on.
He takes off running.
He reaches her in no time.
He grabs her hand,
and gently pulls her down.
He hugs her and looks into her eyes.
With a kiss, he tells her everything he ever thought,
but never said.
The day they first met, he instantly liked her.
But she never gave the slightest inclination
that she liked him back.
She was too afraid to get hurt,
but that only hurt her more.
He expresses the days and weeks that went by.
Eventually turning to months.
Months turned to long, slow years.
Eventually,
he had given up on the love he had for her.
As he breaks the kiss, he tells her:
It just so happens,
that today was the day, he was fed up.
He decided to quit.
He was on his own journey to the bridge.
With the same intended destination as her own.
To end his own misery.
But something out there had a different plan.
They walk home together, hand in hand.
She’s still crying,
But this time, they’re not tears of sadness,
They’re tears of joy.

Save Me

As these thoughts begin to fly,
I look into death, his eyes.
An abyss of dread and black,
His cold heart I attempt to crack.
As I beg for my life to spare.
I give a knock but no ones there...
And as I plea for him to give,
He still says I will not live.
Tears now stain my eyes,
As I write my last goodbyes.
I stare into to pit of death,
And as I take my final breath.

I am falling, won't you catch me?
Save me from this heart that's kneeling.
Light my path, show me the way.
So that I can live, just another day.

My work is done,
My plan has been made.
The last tear I'll ever cry,
Falling as goodbye this life I bade.
I feel the cold of deaths breath,
Running down my spine.
But my tears have already left.
Leaving nothing to call mine.
I face my fear head on,
And challenge it to the fight.
If this world wants me gone,
At least I'll go out right.

I am falling, won't you save me?
Catch me from my falling, maybe?
Take my hand, drag me away,
So you I can thank someday.

Even Small Ants Cast Long Shadow-Contest Entry Format-

The swaying of her hips,
the movement of her lips,
The way she moved her body
brought him into that one kiss.
He loved the way she moved,
she loved the way he talked,
It was a match made in Heaven,
a match made by God.
That single kiss they shared,
It made him fall in love.
Everything he did,
he did for her,
to this man, this woman was,
all there ever was.

Because even small ants cast long shadows,

He never did suspect,
that one day she’d go away.
Her time was drawing near,
and it’d be there all too soon.
He never saw the car,
I came from out of sight.
He did his best to stop it,
he did his best to fight.
But it was too late,
and the damage had already been done.
He cried when he realized,
 that she was already gone.
And as he sat there crying,
he realized,

That even the small ants cast long shadows.

Two weeks later,
and he’s crying in his room.
He was starting to get tired,
and darkness began to loom.
He no longer wanted to live,
he no longer wanted to fight.
All he wanted to do,
is go to the looming light.
So as he sits there crying,
he writes his last note.
As the last tear,
He’ll ever cry,
falls from his face.
And the guns in his face,
the pain’s in his heart.
And from this world,
He then did depart.

All because small ants cast long shadows.

Letter of Goodbye

It’s midnight,
and the clock sets the scene.
Ticking,
as she holds back her scream.

The anguish she feels,
and the demons she holds,
The only way she can feel,
is to let it unfold.

Every tick keeps the time,
as she counts down the hours.
The notes being written,
and the paper, her tears, shower.

Her hands are shaky,
and her wrists are bleeding,
nobody ever knew,
the love she was needing.

Half past one,
and her note’s almost done.
She pours out her life,
her demons have won.

The inspiration she took,
from her friend down the street,
all went away,
when from her life she did flee.

She left her best friend,
crying, sad, and broken.
Her one and only friend,
follows the same path that was taken.

The cutting got boring,
and the blood held no meaning,
The only way to feel right,
was to end this life feeling,

Like she was going to be ok.

Her pain would be healed,
He tears would not fall,
She’d have no more to give,
when from the bridge she’d fall.

She remembers her parents,
and all the love they gave,
But it just wasn’t enough,
for her life to save.

So as she sits her crying,
Sad, tired and broken,
She writes here last words,
and leaves the world with this token:

“I always knew those that loved me, but it didn’t matter. Every day was a fight, and I was on the losing side. I just couldn’t hold out any longer. So remember those like me, you may be able to save them before it’s too late.”

She walks to the bridge,
and she thinks of her life.
All of the tears,
pain, and the strife.

she thought of the guy,
that she’d always loved.
And all of the times he said,
she was who he’d loved.

And as she stepped onto the edge,
she felt her satisfaction,
in knowing that her life,
would no longer be in faction.

As she steps off the edge,
into the abyss,
She looks at the ground,
And finally feels bliss.

Downfall

Slipping,
Falling,
Screaming,
Calling.

Cold and
shaking,
heart is
breaking.

Gasping,
Blind,
Your touch
Is kind.

I want
one thing,
 A time
rewind.

But now
is now,
And then
was then.

Choices
I want,
to make
again.

I thought
that I,
was better
gone.

It looks
like I,
was very
wrong.

I realize
I,
Was
selfish
 too.

I ran
and did
not think
of you.

But It’s
too late,
I’m gone
for good.

But I
had done,
the best
I could

Confessions

Your tears are beautiful,
as they fall across your face,
leading the path down,
that more are sure to take.

I hold you in my arms,
and tell you It’ll be alright,
As teardrops stain my sweater,
I promise I’ll help you fight.

And as you sit here crying,
pouring your heart out to me,
I just sit and listen,
and let your pain go free.

You tell me about the way,
that your boyfriend was you life.
You tell me about the girl,
that’s the center of your strife.

You tell me about the way,
you knew something wasn’t right.
You tell me all about the way,
he didn’t come home one night.

How all you got was a call,
saying there was a girl,
who’s been there all along,
and your head began to swirl.

As sadness took over your body,
and pain took over your heart,
you had but one desire,
to tear yourself apart.

All at once you begin to realize,
all the times you should’ve seen.
That something wasn’t right,
but it seemed just like a dream.

As you try to find a way,
to make yourself feel right.
You look up and notice,
On the counter there is a knife.

And at the time, your head wasn’t right,
and you saw no way to win.
And blood goes down your arm,
as the blade grags across your skin

You had a moment of weakness,
and at the time it felt so good.
And you felt all of the pain,
exactly like you should.

It gave you satisfaction,
knowing your blood was spilled.
It gave you satisfaction,
as the hole in your heart was filled.

But after that you realized,
that your heart had opened again.
and you began to think of the way,
you decided to handle the pain.

You start to sit up and show me,
the scars that don your wrist.
I bend down and I kiss them,
and tell you let it become your bliss.

Let it become a reminder,
that once you had been weak.
But now you can look up and realize,
to turn the other cheek.

I wrap you in my arms and tell you,
that you’re a beautiful and amazing girl.
And that you can know I’m being honest.
because you’ve always been my world.

It’s now my turn to speak,
as I tell you of my love.
And all the things, I ever thought,
but never did speak of.

I wipe the tears from your eyes and tell you,
the thing you never did see,
was the unconditional love and affection,
you’d always get from me.

So as you sit here crying,
and thinking you’re worthless too.
I look you in the eyes and tell you,
I love you just for you.

So stay with me forever,
and I’ll never let you cry.
I swear I’ll keep that promise,
until the day I die.

As I Fall

As I Fall

As I Fall,
I see the ground.
Getting closer,
drowning out all sound.

Wind in my ears,
Tears in my eyes,
I see the people,
And I laugh at their cries.

They don't care,
They never did.
They smile inside,
as their life of me they rid.

And as I fall, in me,
There's no regret.
Except for one,
About the girl I'd met.

She was my life,
she was my smile.
I loved her laugh,
But hated her all the while.

The feeling of
necessity,
It slowly healed,
The mess in me.

But soon I knew,
That love was fake.
As she entered a room,
her presence made me shake.

It wasn't her,
that I'd loved.
It was the feeling of purpose,
Thats what I'd loved.

So as I fall,
I do not fight.
Because now, at last,
I did something right.

Book: Shattered Sighs
