Brian Armstrong Poem
Why is it in this world
People never can agree
There’s bigotry, prejudice and hatred
Around us, so clear that all can see
People argue and fight to prove
That there way is correct
With no room for compromise
To them there is no doubt
That they are the chosen ones
They speak with their God direct
Who has given them a special right
To denounce others who would dare,
Question the infallibility, of one so fair
Expect no justice, peace or freedom to exist
It never can, it never will, until we can agree
Were not just nations but a world-wide community
That looks after all its peoples where ever they may be
Which ensures that all respect the rights of humanity

Brian Armstrong Poem
UNSUPPORTED CODE
Princess Eve is the rose
Between so many thorns
Her way is not a false pose
It’s the way that she was born
With eyes that shine
Like stars in the night
All agree that she is divine
And to darkness she brings light.
She is kind she is gentle
And has a loving heart
Sometimes sentimental
She always plays her part
At parties she can captivate
Her clothing always right
Toward her men will gravitate
So she could dance all night
I wondered if by any chance
She would look at me
If could get a dance
But there are many as you see.
I was feeling lonely,
Really rather low,
It was then I noticed her alone.
And our eyes just met
Then she had only eyes for me
As we danced together
No worries so carefree
As music stopped I wanted her with me
May I walk you home I asked
To which she did agree
It was not very far
But splendid company
Arriving at your house that night
We hugged and with passion kissed
Time no longer mattered, together as one.
That`s when I awoke with the rising of the sun

Brian Armstrong Poem
The siren shattered the silence of night
This signalled someone in distress
So out of bed I got and rapidly did dress
I rode down to the shore line
My comrades to meet
The wind was blowing strong
But out at sea a yachtsman
Was in jeopardy
Rapidly our boat was launched
Down the ramp to splash into the sea
The engine was roaring ,driving hard
The water picked by the wind into foaming waves
No time to consider the dangers that we faced
As toward the yachtsman forward we raced.
Our search light probing like a finger of light
Tried to pierce the darkness of the night.
Finally we saw the boat
Its mast broken, hanging limply in the raging sea
We called the yachtsman on the radio to tell of our intent
To fire a rocket, rope attached which he should secure,
We would then tow him from the rocks on the leeward shore
The rocket fired and rope secured we towed the boat,
To a harbour nearby, a tragedy averted, another grateful man.
We returned more slowly to where all this began

Brian Armstrong Poem
There`s a flower
Which loves height
Of the mountain tops
Growing in crevices of rock
It survives sun, wind and snow
Where no other species can grow
In Austria and Switzerland up in the Alps
Leontopodium alpinum is something you may see
You need to look carefully and mind where you tread
They are beautiful to look at , with a flower so small and white
They are better known by the name Edlewiess which can be translated
To mean noble and white
