Beirut

Let the birds be silent
Let the air be poisoned
Let every sound be tormenting
Let the light be dark.

Let my flower not bloom
And my days be gloom.

Let my dream be a nightmare
And my thoughts become
frightful.
Let my pages be empty
And my colors be dry.

Let my words sound confusing
And the sky fall to the ground.

Let my night sky be moonless
let there be no stars, Let the
rivers run dry.

Let the sweet taste of honey be
just memory and no bees and
no hives.

Let me forget life as I know it
Let me just fantasize.

Background:
My home land Lebanon was once a beautiful place to live. Now instead it's unbearable! It is consumed by noise pollution, dirt pollution, politics pollution.... our green mountains are been stripped down hardly any forest left. Only 3 % of our forests exist. Our Cities are over crowded with cars not to mention motor bikes of all kind and sizes, they appear from nowhere ready to crush you, strip you or both. Generators noisy and smelly it gets to you inside and out. Our politicians are too busy filling their pockets with green paper, fighting among each other who should get the lion's share. Sorry to say! Lebanon was known the Switzerland of the Middle East. Today we are among the most corrupted nations!

Soulmate

My heart aches with sadness,
tears they often flow.

What it meant to lose you,
no one will ever know.

Whatever else I fail to do,
I will always love you.

Brown Eyes

Brown eyes that matched her hair
Sad and unhappy as she stood there
Waiting for her love to return, maybe yes
maybe never, only time will tell
Such sad brown eyes that matched her hair
Tied from behind in the most romantic way
Head slightly tilted gazing down in despair
Looking but not looking, staring into space
Memories, dancing inside her head
As she spoke silently “He promised to return”
Talking to herself said… “I had to believe
What am I to do this is just my grief”
Time is just a lie man invented it to be wise
When two lovers are together
It doesn’t need Einstein.
He gave such a wonderful love
Love only known to a lonely heart
For what is life if not with him, I prefer to die.
Fool I am to think he will return
He’s been gone so long maybe minutes
maybe days.

Your Heaven's Door

I want to reach out to you
But I don't know how?

I know you feel the same.
You want to communicate.

I want to tear this invisible
wall and reach out to you.

I want to give you a rose,
a gift and hold you close.

Tonight is a full moon
whispering secrets into you.

Secrets about this lonely soul
dancing to the sound of your flute
at your heaven's door.

Angel

Angel.

Nights in black and white,
My mind keeps drifting from side to side.

Wondering about the voice I heard at night,
Is it an angel or God?

"Be patient," The voice said,
I heard it so clear, strange to say the least.

The voice whispered in my own ear,
It made me scared, and it made me fear.

Fear from God who heard my cry,
Begging for mercy, to save a child.

Praying to all angels to keep her safe
The mother of my children, and my soulmate.

This is a sign for me to know,
That God is up there, and I am not alone.

I did get angry for the suffering you caused,
Left without mercy this innocent soul.

She's confused she said.
"why me"? "What have I done,
To deserve such pain"?
"Or is it my luck or my fate"?

She was punished for no real crime?
My soulmate, the one I love.

I’ll keep my faith every time I'm down,
With my forehead touching the ground.

I watched the shadow
Trying to make sense of time!

The Gift of Sound

The Gift of Sound.

In our little house stands an upright piano,
tuned by a blind man blessed by the gift of sound.

My son sat one day playing a masterpiece,
Written long ago by a man who couldn’t hear.

Listening to the music it took my mind away to,
To a magical place no luggage and no case.

My mind kept jumping between different scenes,
Fields of coloured flowers the loveliest it can be.

Shadows of far mountains colours in different hues
A pied piper sat under a tree playing his favourite tune.

Sheep gathered together chased by a cleverly dog
Taught by nature no cane and no flog.

Oh… the gift of sound.

Missing You

If you were on the moon I would fly on a one winged Angel just to be with you! I would fly to Mars just to see you! I would count all the stars that's how much I love you!

Mother Mary

Over your head is a shining light,
Oh mother Mary what a blissful sight.

You came to the world to bless us all,
You brought a son to save the world.

You appear to the sick to give them hope,
To bless them and comfort their soul.

So gentle mother Mary, please bless me
And my family in this life’s journey.

A journey of hope that the ever lasting place
Is a better place for us all.

Please mother Mary help the sick,
Heal them with your blessings this is my wish.

I kiss the ground where you walked,
The land of the Cedars that stood so tall.

You are there in every place, and
On our hearts we engraved your face.

When a Man Loves a Woman

When a man loves a woman.

I went to the perfumer to make me a scent,
to please the woman I love, she is Godsend!

He said I will make you a scent no woman has ever wore,
and in replace you must give me your soul.

I said my soul I don't own, to God it belongs,
But instead I will give you my home.

Because when a man loves a woman.
This is all he needs, first to build her a home in his heart,
then whatever she may please!
