Your Call

As I stand upon this mountain,Lord, I pray to do your will, You've called me to your purpose, And my answer I'll not fear. I don't know about tomorrow, But I know that you'll be near. As I stand upon this mountain,Lord, I hear your call so clear. Lord,I feel so unworthy, To do my Fathers will, And I've failed you so often, Then I think of Calvary's hill. I gave my heart and soul to you, I proclaim to always be true. As I stand upon this mountain,Lord, The only view I see is you. The view from this mountain,Lord, Your hand hath made, As I answer your call, I will not be afraid. For I seek not for gain , But to ease your peoples pain, And I know this path is true,Lord, Because this call was made by you.

Step Aside

Sometimes there's situations When you have to step aside. There is nothing more that you can do, Though it's hard to realize, That maybe you are in the way, And standing in between, Sometimes you have to step aside, Before God will intervene. His work, he can do better, If there's no one in the way. There's only so much we can do, And so much we can say. For He is so much greater, On His assurance, we can lean. Sometimes we have to step aside, Before God will do anything. Yes, there will be heartaches, When you have to step aside. God understands you, And He will be your guide. Just place it all in His great hands, By your side He will abide. He knows that you still love the one, For whom you've stepped aside.

Christmas Again

Here it is Christmas again, My,how time gets away. It seems like last Christmas, Was just yesterday. All that rushing here and there, Trying to get ahead, Trying to plan the menu, So everyone can be fed. The tree needs decorating, The mistletoe hung in place, There's visions of being far away, But that would be a disgrace. So, I set about the difficult task, Of shopping here and there, With aim of finding the perfect gift, Though my budget's in despair. There's cards to mail, To my list of friends, In hopes they won't be late. Gifts now wrapped, under the tree, Ends torn, cause kids can't wait. I wonder, as I sigh, if the Lord Shakes his head when we celebrate, This most glorious gift in all the world, We seem to under-estimate. It appears when Christmas comes to mind, Santa now holds the rein, We've pushed aside the true meaning, Of why Jesus really came. Peace, love, and good will to all, Is worth more than we can say, For they are worth more than all the gifts, That are opened on Christmas Day. Yes, Christmas again will soon be over, In only a few more days, There's comfort in knowing, We've one whole year, Before it again comes our way. Though rushed and tired we're overcome, By the hustle of the season, Lest, we forget why we celebrate, Jesus is the reason.

Could You Use Some Help Today

There's so many times I call on you for the needs of the day, Day or night you are always there when I kneel down to pray. So I thought with all the things you do I'd just call on you to say, Is there anything I can do for you to help you out today. If someone's having troubles I'd be willing to volunteer. If they need someone to listen I'd gladly lend my ear. If they're lonely, sick, or dying I'd be the friend they need that day. With all the work that's facing you,Lord Could you use some help today. I wonder if there are any times you feel you need to get away. I wonder if some prayers to you you would like to just delay. I know you are not the kind of God who will ever be dismayed, But I offer to you, that I'm willing to do whatever will help today.

He Shelters Me With Care

When I'm down and my troubles overtake me, And I can't understand just what to do, I feel so small and He's so far up above me, I wonder can He really see and hear me,too. My hope, I call on Him to listen, For, I know His answers will be true. On Him I pour my troubled soul, For I know He's in control, In the shelter of His wings, He'll see me through. Oh,hallelujah, praise His name, what a Saviour. When I call on Him He's always there. I have no doubt that my prayers, He will answer, For with His wings He shelters me with care. We're living in an age of self-destruction. Satan seems to be in control everywhere. So many lives have been shattered and broken, Yet, as Christians it seems we do not care. I know it won't be long 'till Jesus comes again, Our heartaches and troubled lives will disappear, But until then I'll keep my eyes upon my Saviour, Cause with His wings I'm sheltered in His care.

My Time To Pray

I awake in the morning at the breaking of day,
I go out for you see it's my time to pray.
With the quietness all around me his voice i can hear,
As i walk thru the dew, I feel his presence so near.
All the beauty i see how can one say he's not real,
For his handprint is seen in every flower, tree, and hill.

"lord, you are my sunshine that helps me to grow."
"lord, you are my refuge when i need a safe place to go."
"lord, you are my shelter when life isn't fair."
"lord, you are the friend i can talk to, because i know that you care."

"i treasure each morning, lord, i spend with you,
Your strength helps me face each day i go through,
I can't imagine how I’d make it without all that you do,
It's a pleasure each morning, lord, just to spend it with you."

Forget, Not

Memory of faces,
  Maybe even a name,
  Remember the places,
  Seeing so much pain.
  How can we witness,
  In this land of plenty,
  Different hungers that plague,
  Numbers of many.
" Forget, Not", be our Motto,
  After the season of giving,
  Let our gifts continue,
  To give new beginnings.

A True Story of a Helping Hand

One night a young man appeared at my door, It seemed he had troubles I couldn't ignore. Some water and a phone call was all he asked for, Yet somewhat reluctant, I opened the door. As I listened, he told me a little about his life, And I could plainly see, there had been much strife. Well, I thought to myself, now there must be something there, That the Lord could use in His service down here. I told him it appeared that his life needed a change, And it was God who knew how his life to re-arrange. So, I fed him and sent him on his way home, Then I prayed for this young man, that night, after he was gone. Later, my husband told me of the fear that he felt, That I had opened the door to a man so unkept, How today, this is just something we should never do, Even though God says,"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Oh! What has this world come to, when in Gods word we are told, To help those in need and are hungry and cold? Must we now be afraid to lend a helping hand, Unaware that some might be angels wanting to be a welcomed friend? Now, I don't know if I'll ever hear again from this man, But I was willing to lend him, my helping hand, Just to share what I had, and one thing more, A way that his young life could again be restored. Yes, I guess we must now be afraid to lend a helping hand, Unaware that some might be angels, never to pass our way again.

Leaves of Memories

Buds are opening on a tree,
Showing their colors of pale green.
As sun and rain flow through their veins,
They stretch their shape as with growing pains.

The warmth of the summer brings forth maturity,
A dark green color now dresses the tree.
Regal and strong she bends with the sway,
As she conquers the storms that come her way.
The wind scatters her seed all over the ground,
Her seedlings will be many when next year comes around.

As nights become cooler, her true beauty unfolds,
The green of her color is now beautiful gold.
When winter overtakes her and shatters her leaves,
Within each is lost precious memories.
She now stands alone , this regal old tree,
A testimony how life sometimes must be.

I'Ll Have Forever To See It All

When I walk thru pearly gates into Heaven, And the beauty of that city, I behold, All my loved ones will be smiling as they greet me, As I walk down the streets of pure gold. Old aquaintances and friends, I'll remember, Come to see me or just say,"hello." But the greatest attraction in Glory, Is when Jesus comes and welcomes me home. As He shows me my mansion on a hilltop, Where the River of Life flows below, No need to hurry for time is eternal. I'll have forever to see it all. Maybe, I'll just stroll across Heaven. Maybe, I'll talk with my friends, all day long. Maybe, I'll spend all my time with Jesus. I'll have forever to see it all. Many times down here we're faced with pain and heartaches, And it seems those troubled times goes on and on. Yet, we're told in His word these things will happen, But He won't leave us to face them all alone. Oh, what joy just to know that God is with us. What a blessing to know He cares for His own. As we struggle toward the end of our pathway, We won't worry for the sins that we've known. All of heaven will be smiling as we cross-over, There'll be no tears for us to shed anymore. Only joy up ahead for us is waiting. We'll have forever to see it all. Maybe, I'll spend all my time praising Jesus. Maybe, I'll sit at His throne all day long. No need to hurry for time is eternal. I'll have forever to see it all.
