Under the Full Moon She Was

Even before birth, she was bedeviled with claws,
Her dark skin still dry even when it rains and pours,
Leaning forward she tries to cut the African papaws;
Through it all, under the full moon she was.

It was sad when they beheaded the outlaws,
Their culture never stood on a pause.
Obeying the elders, her heart misses the one she loves;
Through it all, under the full moon she was.

The nights silence let her know that a bee can buzz,
the moon drifts, inevitable was the cause.
She regretted the day tradition labelled her family outlaws;
Through it all, under the full moon she was.

Love

Love!!!

We all want it all,
What if you find it?
Cos you have been looking for it.
Or what if it comes to you when you don't even care,
Will you be there?

If you can't find love,
You can't see love.
Love is blind, but only when we kiss,
It feels good, but only when we breathe.

It makes you happy, only when you find happiness,
Love is goodness,
It does not ask why,
It does not lie,
It brings you near to humanity,
When your path might be close to insanity.

Close your eyes when you kiss,
Imagine your love calling out on you like when a snake hiss,
It’s a sign,
Be good and be kind.

I am still talking about love,
You see the love that you seek; you think ''yet'' are all you need,
You don't really believe in love like me,
Don’t be like that or it might set you free.

You make a way in your heart, for your love to cross,
But you ride with it on a horse,
I loved my love,
My heart was lost,
This was not lust,
I had found my true love, it has found me.
We are not 2 but 1, I believe it is real.

When Am Gone

When I’m gone,
Don’t say a word,
Just listen to the voice.

Soon will be the storm,
Then, the rain comes.
To me I can't feel it,
But to you it stings.

I know it’s hard,
Loosing someone can make you cry.
But I’ll always be there,
I promise to be near.
Even when things fall apart,
Believe that I’m not far.

But don't cry so much,
Cos your tears can sweep the dust,
They say it heals,
I saw they wouldn’t know how it feels.

When you miss me,
Just say the words sweetly,
And I’ll be a there in a jiffy,
Because “so much”, you mean to me.

You asked what you would do without me,
I answer “you will do better if you believe”,
Remember me on that day,
Remember the good, ugly and the bad taste.

Wish I was with you,
But there is nothing I can do,
Cos where I am is much better,
And when you get this, know it’s a happy letter.

I know it’s a little bit hard,
But there is no need to be sad. (When I’m gone)

Change

They say it’s all we need
But would it be all we see,
When it comes, is it constant?

Do we need a monster?
To give us the thing we need?
Do you always get what you seek?

I lived a life worth living,
You lived yours without believing.
Is change all you need?
Is it all ''she'' can give?

‘‘She'' is NIGERIA
A representative of Africa
Does she worth the post?
She stands by, and watches the river over flow.

They said she is sick,
they said she can't see
They also said that she is corrupt,
But they can't make her stop.

They said she has to make decisions,
So it would be better for her generations.
But she can't do it on her own
She needs someone, like the body needs the soul,
but he always disappoints her,

One by one, they make her seat a state of pride,
They all owe her,
In her main area called Abuja.

I love my country
They judged her wrongly,
I miss home,
Never will i forget the place I had grown.

Mother

Mother!!!
We cry out each time,
FATHER!!!
We don't all the time.

Wherever we are, she is there,
No matter the distance, she is near.
We cry on her in the midnight,
She gives us attention without thinking twice,
We should love her,
We should adore her.

She is always there when father isn't,
She finds you, when you get missing,
She makes my day,
She didn't care when giving birth to me in pain.

She stood by me when no one did,
She dressed my bed whenever I want to sleep.
What would it take to pay her back?
I think you have to make her to understand,
That really she did a great job,
Bringing this wonderful being into her world.

It is not too much to ask,
Let’s not be ashamed and close our face with a mask.
No matter what she looks like,
She is still the one who gave us the life.

I wish I could see her now,
But I know she hears when I shout...
 MAMA...

War

It is the time for war,
The world shakes as the lion roar,
I can imagine what it must be like,
When you look around and see your friends die,
There will be no time to feel bad,
No time to feel sad,
You struggle to survive,
You run for your life,
Without looking back,
cos now the back has become the past.
We don't need war,
Peace and harmony we need more.

Surgery

Cut me cut me! Oh scalpel of thy surgeon,
Expose my inner organs to the world to see,
As I lay on the operating table helplessly,
My life now lies in the hands of those standing over me,
I live if they did right and I die if they don’t.

27 Questions

i wake in the morning with hopes and dreams,
but i thought you only dream when you sleep?
what do you feel when you sleep?
do you think about life?
do you think you are the 1 lying there so helplessly?
do you even dream at all?
or do you just wake realizing you have been awake?
do you ask yourself why?
why you always sleep in the night?
why you wake in the morning?
is it natural?
or are you supposed to do it cos you are supposed to do it?
do you think about your life as a rolling stone?
or do you think that the world is full of hopes and dreams?
do you really think there is a land full of milk and honey?
do you think all those going to school end up becoming what they dreamed of
becoming?
how would you fell when you lost 5 of your friends in a year like i did?
do you think you are next?
do you give up life cos you know that one day you will pass on?
or do you hope to live on?
is that a bible in your hands?
do you read them?
do you think about heaven?
do you believe in it?
do you think about the creator?
do you think he is real?
do you? do you? do you?
YOU KNOW THE ANSWER BUT YOU CAN'T SAY THEM.

Feelings

thought she was the one,
look what she's become.
thought i had a chance,
for just a dance,
but now i think its over,
she's making it so now.

never love a girl,
or have feelings at first,
they would break your heart,
and then turn you apart.

when you give up love,
then a good girl would come,
but in my case......... ( to be continued )
