Hurt People Hurt Peole

You were a blooming white rose, stained red by the pain,
And you showed me your scars, which I accepted without disdain.
Told you that you were no different from anyone, despite your flaws,
Showed you that you were entitled to love, despite feeling broken beyond repair.
Showed you that you deserved kindness, showed you that you deserved compassion, and showed you that you deserved support,
Made you realize that there was meaning in this wretched world.
Yet despite all my efforts, you gnawed at my heart like a wolf to its prey,
You clawed into my walls, you stripped me of my identity, and you left me bare and exposed to the venom of reality.
Wrote me songs, sounds of a broken symphony played by an orchestra of disaster, with thorns from roses you made me a bed and laid me to rest.
And despite every broken candle I had to repair and the bittersweet lies I held dear,
I forgot one main thing,
Hurt people hurt people.

Soul's Cry

In the depths of her eyes,
I found a world untold,
Secrets swirling like eddies.
In a river of gold.

Eyes, they say, are windows.
To the soul's inner lore,
And as I gazed into hers,
I felt my own heart soar.

At first, I saw happiness,
Hope sparkling bright and clear,
But soon, the light dimmed,
As shadows drew near.

Her eyes, once full of life,
Now held a darker truth,
A story of pain and strife,
Hidden in her youth.

Tears etched lines of sorrow,
Scars marked her fragile frame,
And in her eyes, I saw.
The weight of untold shame.

I watched her story unfold,
A tale of broken dreams,
Of innocence lost,
In life's relentless streams.

She fought battles unseen,
Her soul a battlefield,
Struggling to find peace.
Amidst wounds never healed.

In her eyes, I glimpsed.
The depths of her despair,
A darkness consuming her,
Leaving her soul laid bare.

As I stood witness to her pain,
I questioned why I dared.
To peer into her soul,
To uncover secrets bared.

But in the end, I realized.
The truth that lay within:
The girl whose eyes I gazed into
Was a reflection of my own sin.

For the darkness I saw in her eyes
Was a mirror to my own strife,
And in her final breath, I knew.
The girl whose soul I saw was me, my life.

Who Am I?

Who are you?
Who am I?
A simple question yet it leaves my mind in chaos.
Who am I?
Am I the scared little girl that blocks out the things she doesn't want to remember?
Who am I?
Am I the girl who yearns for the approval and love from her parents?
Who am I?
Am I the girl that'll do anything for the people I care about even if it means I lose myself in the process?
Who am I? m,
Am I the girl that men deem suitable for their unsavory thoughts?
Who am I?
Am I the girl who loves too much and too hard?
Who am I?
Am I the broken little girl trying to put herself back together piece by piece?
Who? Are? You?
How can I answer if I don't even know who I am.

Monsters

Monsters?
What are monsters?
Are they the things that lurk in the darkest places where you can barely see them?
Or monsters?
The ones that walk among us taking form as people we may or may not be familiar with?
Do you wanna know who the true monsters are?
Our very own thoughts that gnaw at us like a predator to its prey.
Heightening our darkest fears and biggest insecurities.
Making us feel less than what we're actually worth,
The thoughts that strip away our identity as we strive for what's considered "normal".
The same thoughts that heighten our fear and paranoia of what the world considers "monsters",
So much that we don't even realize that our mind is the deadliest monster of them all.
And by the time we've realized it's far too late, for the monster has consumed us
Plaguing our every thought and action.
Now we're no longer scared of the monsters around us but instead of the monster within.
