What If

What if the sun was to not rise
What if the world would not turn
What if today was our last
Would you have regrets
Would you have unfinished business
What if you had one day left
How would you finish

Open Up

Open your eyes
Open your heart
To find the truth
Don't be afraid
It may hurt
But it'll get better
To know who you are
Who you truly are
What could be better
Don't hide
There's no need for that
Not anymore
Just be true to yourself
If they don't like it
 Then they don't matter
The ones that matter
 Will like it
No matter What
 They'll be there for you
So let it out
Let's see it
The Real You

A Feeling

What is this feeling
That I sometimes feel?
I do not know.
When it's there
 it's a great feeling.
When it's gone
 it feels like something's missing.
I like this feeling when it's here.
But when it's gone I don't like the feel.
How do I make it here to stay?
Or could it be it's not meant to be?
I do believe one day it will remain.
Until then there's just the glimpse.

Empty Promises

I can recall alot of empty promises you made.
And I can remember several times when you got my hopes up,
Then crushed them like it was nothing.
These feelings I know well.
Because I always let myself fall for it.
Even though I knew what would happen.
I always thought you would change.
That's a lie.
I always hoped you would.
That maybe just once,
You'd want to be a part of my life, for good.
But who was I kidding.
You couldn't even remember my birthday.
I don't know if I can ever forgive you, for what you've done.
The day you came to the hospital to see your granddaughter after she was born,
I let my hopes get so high again.
And no surprise you crushed them.
I might forgive you one day.
But I'll never forget.
And I'll never let you hurt my daughter.
Like you hurt me, your daughter.

I'D Rather Be

Sitting here thinking
 I'd rather be somewhere else
My mind starts to drift
 to places I'd rather be
Images start to collect
of things I'd rather be doing
Gatherings of sounds
 of what maybe heard
Until I'm far away
 without ever moving
How lovely the smells and sounds
 of this beautiful....
Then the jolt and sound of the bell
 throws me back to reality
And back to work I go

Repeat After Me...

Repeat after me

I have control
I am in control
I am strong
I have strength
I am beautiful
I have beauty within
I will survive
I am a survivor

Outcast

You say to be yourself
but then you judge me
I get treated different
because I'm different
I'm not like you
So you outcast me
you act like nothings wrong
But actions speak louder than words
if you don't like me
then thats fine
Don't act like you do

Bored

I'm bored
so bored
won't the day break
and give way
lift this boredom
and take if far away

Children

Children can be a handful
They can even cause you grief
Children are innocent and beautiful
Let's show them the world is too
Children are impressionable
 So careful what you teach
For these children I speak of
Are the caretakers of you and me
Children are the future
 Don't you see
So I warn you
 Careful what you preach

A Glance

Starts with a glance
Then a spoken word
Elevates to a conversation
Moves to a touch
Which leads to a kiss
