Tried

She tried!
But she failed.
Because it is impossible
To give what is not received.
Totally unreasonable
To expect the unpromised.
Completely regrettable
To be and feel unappreciated.
She stopped!

She tried!
To show that she's different
A giver, not a taker.
That she'd prefer
To be self-reliant
Not dependent.
She made it satiably coherent
That she would rather
Be a lover, not a sucker.
It was a total disappointment!

She tried!
To show you could triumph
For you, she could change.
Accept to take just half
And try to manage
Until you were ready
To give her not all, but enough.
But you were reading from a different page
So you made it tough
Impossible to gauge!

She tried!
To communicate
Make you understand
What she felt.
But you made it hard
For her tender heart
You openly tortured
And for long, she was patient.
Made sure she followed
For a while, when you left.
Her desire withered!

I Remember It So Well

It was the 14th day of the 4th month
In the 20th year of the 21st-Century
The Common Era.
I remember it so well!
Not because it was the hundredth plus five,
today
Of what appeared to be the hoped-for,
tomorrows
In what should be the worst calendar,
To any peoples' year.
But only because it was the first time,
I tore down on what ought to have been,
My happiest day
It was the beginning of a new phase.
The first page of the 26th chapter
Of the book, that was my life
And the last paragraph on that page,
Had to be the realization that things
Could turn to what no one wanted_worst!
Maybe I was wrong to not kneel.
But I prayed so hard in my heart,
For Him to hear us
Because in the shortest time
A lot had been claimed of us.
And I became a witness of people
Who began to lose faith in each other!
Folks who given time and a choice
Started giving up the self to the unknown.
It was the first day of another year in mine life
And it was the day that spelled doom!
I hated it.
But I wished for a conviction,
One that made me trust, in my prayer
For all to be well,
To wake up to a world
Where we were all sure of tomorrow, as today,
Everyone and everything was healed
The universe and its bearings emerged stronger
In spirit and form,
In body and bond,
Together as one,
With self and others

It Was Never Her Wish

Independent!
The word attributed to every 21st-century woman
Who has the gait and strength
                Enough willingness.
To foot her bills and be her security
A strong desire to be a gentleman, and his ladyship
		All in one linen.
The single name, which is so simple yet everything
To the young girl trying to extricate herself from the social cycles
		Through a unison decision,
Made and sang across all nations
By the tired, dethroned, slammed, and trampled voices
To be a man or die trying.
It is not that she wanted this from the start
Her aim was not to make you lack meaning in her life
                 It was to free herself.
Your oppressive rule made her want to taste the power
And your lax demeanor today, makes her enjoy it
		Not her fault.
Now you use the word to taunt her
Blame her because hers, has been the role of taking the blame
		But you turned her.
It is not that she no longer wants,
To respect you, help and watch you hold high your ego
		It is the era.
And your long-standing character
That consistently wishes to keep her grounded, forever oppressed
		She remains wary of.
Changing whom she has now become
Requires a lot of effort and time from you, not to win her over
		To make her trust.
Not in your ability to provide, give her all her materialistic desires
But in the assurance that she is safe from torture, oppression, and abuse
		That is all.

Sophistication's Enemy

She's losing count of the times she's cursed
Inconsolably cast my destitute self in hell
She's forgotten the periodical instances she's dumbly paused
Sentient to her reinvigorated hatred
Entwined in inexplicable feelings of attachment
In a layering gone wrong
Probably for its lack of a footing!

In the distant thoughts that harshly rule her mind
Reminding her of the mistakes, she's made
Gaffes that brought an end to our dreams
Of a valid and reachable vision currently so reserved
She's been oblivious of my blunders
Those that justify her actions and reactions
Antiphons consequent not antecedent!

In that newfound awakening
A realization calling for novel resolutions
Dawns upon her like a striking lightning
Sending awakening requests to dimmed passions
In attempting to make past due slip-ups
If only to approach things with naivety
As some subjects are sophistications enemy
But an ally to the crude!

My Promise

Truth can be hurtful
Aw! I know it's spiteful!
Insensitive even
But I don't know to speak otherwise
Never learned to, probably never will.
So here is my promise;
To upset you with the truth
Since you are wise, I believe
You will understand
Change maybe!
And I will be sorry later
Not for telling it
Only for breaking you
With its insensitivity
But generally grateful
For my honesty
