Semillas

We are to receive a gift
Through a method misplaced
Handfuls of nature chaste

Wandering seeds
Sprout for us vignettes of promise
That we may look upon the world through fresh eyes

Innocuous gems
Sprout for us the warmth of contentment
That we may grow beyond the reach of suffering

Flora, give as you must
Bring hope to a budding youth
And shelter us from loss

My Private Universe

Dark and endless wonder
I am to plunder
In the name of your reach,
As I yearn to discover,
The keys that uncover,
The textures of existence.

Yet, It is I behind every door,
Every seal,
Every curtain,

Folding unto myself.

Sentiments rejoice, disperse,
Evaporate, as clouds to rain
Flickers of strength

Temperamental weather,
Winter’s flock come summer,
Beat onward without a drummer

Ceaseless chaos,
Lawless jungle, crudely laid,
Forge the path causality made

Impersonal gravity
That cradles the absolute,
Command the silence
To leave no whisper outside the gates,
A rapturous mystery preserved,
Contained.

Ride

The horse, the horse has no stable
It ran straight out of our fable
The rusty lion has had to jump and shove
And is already sick of our love
The only one that doesn’t seem to dare
Is the graceless Swann
Who has long since been too tired to care
Therein lay the sign
The demise of our beloved shrine
A plea to stop this machine
It borders on obscene
And shift our gaze to the wildest of green’s

Move Me

You have a way
Of making the world sway
As if the only sin would be to lay
Still, as stones in mourning
Still, as death in waiting
Yet, it is no the lips that free
The rhythm from the knee
But your light that moves me

Candle

Slowly now, there’s shattered glass
Slowly now, the moment has yet to pass

Tonight, the crackle of bones
Haunt the halls
Like weathered moans
Of fortune's fool

A candle, beguiled
Flickers and feigns its flame
As insecurities and guilt
Brand their name
The body’s older, still,
It hurts just the same

Scarlett footprints keep pace
With the sway of keys

A torrent of unopened doors
Is all the mind sees

Late is the hour
And anxious resolve sets
Alas, the more evident panic
The worse it gets

For every feeling a season
For every second a reason

Tred slowly now, slowly.

Pact

Playful devils come and revel in the light of my ripening flaws. For if laws can’t prevent civil descent, I might as well hold onto your claws. I’ll offer a meal as I speak with zeal so we may strike a savory deal. Come work for me and the riches, you’ll see, will shower you as if it was meant to be.
