Those who walk there, touch each trunk and limb, see differently. Their heart rejoices as young shoots sprout and saplings spread and climb , Chasing bright sunbeam’s rays till their canopy calling they find. Their heart burdened by the storm tossed ones who once were strong and tall, Now twisted , failing and lacking, bravely refusing to fall. Sadly they recall the fallen, who’s cool shade and shield they shared. Each stump kindles treasured memories for all that tarried there. To some an overview of the forest is how life should be, But I want to “walk the woods” and know every wonderful tree.
