She Said
'How long will you keep me waiting' That's what she said well at least in my head 'How long will it take for you to say what's on your mind It's okay if you make a mistake I won't laugh, I won't cry I'll just hold it in my hand cause I understand' She said, She said Her words, they reach me but I'm so slow to react I've never been well under pressure I've never been... well I can't lie, I'm nervous what if I fail...failing has always been my forte yet her sapphire eyes bear into me, begging please So I try and I realize I realize...nothing Nevermind I don't know what to say I'm at a loss of what to do She's approachable but I'm mistakenly unnoticeable So how could she possibly notice me... all the words she could place carefully in a sentence an architect lines me up like a dominoes tap one piece and I fall down irreparable, is this the better off that you meant 'What's wrong, why are you shaking" and all I could blurt out in an instant was an a quick muffled I love you as if she'd hear me, as if she'd be interested in me but I bolted down the street the sun fried my feet to the concrete I turned frozen still as she said she loved me too not noticing my ears went numb when I realized I'm caught in train tracks with one said train barreling inches from my unsuspecting face....
