I Loved You
I loved you then, I love you now, and I will always love you. I think about you as my eyes flutter closed to fall asleep at night. You're the center of the universe in my dreams. Your name is the very first thing that comes to mind as I awake day in & day out. These days it's more intense than ever before. How ironic is that? Yet I can't help it or stop it. There are things I regret, yet never my time spent with you. That is something I will always cherish. The memories flow into my head like a rushing river everywhere I go. This town is full of your essence. Each day as I wipe the tears from my eyes, I wish I could hold you just one more time. Perhaps more if you say it can be true and that you want to too. Sudden pangs of sadness attack me day after day like bullets from an unknown foe in disguise. Where has my happiness gone? This feeling is new to me. To feel alone even with people flanked at my left & right?... Afraid to lose you even though I don't truly have you, I miss you even as I talk to you. Now more than ever. I feel like I've lost myself. A piece of me is gone, and I just hope I can get it back one day.
