Life
Feel warmth and comfort in such close surrounds of this liquefied place, Yet there is movement of late, like a small tremor or a quake. The soft walls of my room start to quiver and shake as I'm moved, forcing me from familiar environs as downwards I am wooed. The life giving pulse quickens its pace, somehow I know that it is time, to leave my nurturing home and a new dwelling to find. My body makes changes for the new journey that I make, The womb drains away like a plug pulled from a lake. The canal is so small, feel restricted and confined, I wriggle and squirm, every movement clearly defined. The protective fluid in my lungs begin to drain and dry up, life giving air from the placenta I can no longer suck. At the end of the tunnel I feel a cooling on my head, As downwards I'm forced, am I alive or am I dead? A sudden explosion of lights and sounds bombard my whole being, as the tunnel is breached and I am hearing and seeing. The enormous pressure on my body make me cry out with shock, I am free now, I gaze around me and take stock. Such an incredible journey, yet I feel it has just begun. I am drained now, I curl up on my mum and suck on my thumb.
