Christmas Shopping
Christmas Shopping. I head for the shops to do some Christmas shopping, I see all the traffic, well it is just shocking. Do I sit here and wait and just go with the flow? Or turn around and go home?, Gee I really don't know. Now Inside the shop people like doomsday preppers are piling up trolleys, treating others like leppers. Their faces set like flint, the long distance stare as they march down the isles like I'm not even there. Extricating myself from a safe place to hide, I pluck up some courage and swallow my pride, I then Join all the others into retail heaven Then hear, "Security required in Isle number seven. It took a moment to register, that's where I am. See a man lift his clothes and stuff he does cram. Security bare down as I clutch tight on my list. It looked like a scene from Gorilla's in the mist. Eager hands grab and clutch as he puts up a fight. He's bumped into me as he's punched in the lights. I stumble down the Isle dropping my list on the floor. Shopping is over now so I head for the door. I get out of the shops, taking paces by the double. I just wanted to shop not be involved in some trouble. When I get home I know that is where I should stay. And that people is why I don't shop for Christmas day.
